Market Leadership Reflects Innovative

LG 6 Motion and TurboWash™ Technologies

LG front-load washing machine in white color

SEOUL, Mar. 26, 2015 — For the seventh consecutive year, LG Electronics (LG) was named the number one washing machine brand worldwide in 2014, accounting for 12.4 percent of all washing machines sold.In front-load washing machines, LG was again the top brand globally in 2014 for the sixth consecutive year with14.7 percent market shareand number one in the highly competitive U.S. market for the eighth straight year.

The success of LG washers can be attributed to a number of innovative advances in washer technology. For example, the Direct Drive motor, attached directly to the washer’s drum, which increases performance and durability. LG’s 6 Motion technology has a touch as delicate as handwashing, helping to reduce wrinkles and damage to clothes. Another important innovation has been the TurboWash™ technology, which uses high pressure water particles that dramatically reduce washing time.

LG’s front-load washing machines have been recognized all over the world for their outstanding reliability and durability by leading consumer magazines from Spain (OCU-Compra Maestra), Italy (Altroconsumo) and Australia (Choice). A leading U.S. consumer magazine rated LG’s front-loaders as most reliable for six consecutive years through 2014. Germany’s Association for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies (VDE) and other consumer organizations have also recognized LG’s front-loaders for their durability.2

This year, LG plans to continue its leadership in home laundry with innovative products such as the world’s first front-load washing machine with TWIN Wash™. This revolutionary design enables two separate loads to be washed simultaneously. With a space-efficient “mini washer” in the pedestal, overall cycle times are reduced with fewer loads required.

“LG has been able to dominate the global market through constant development of innovative washing machine technology and design, especially our 6 Motion Direct Drive motor and TurboWash™ technologies,” said Seong-jin Jo, president and CEO of the LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Innovative features, reliable performance and outstanding design continue to be key selling points for LG premium appliances, and customers seem to agree.”

LG MARKS LED PROJECTOR LEADERSHIP WITH NEW PORTABLE PROJECTORS

LG Minibeam Projectors Deliver Maximum Portability and Viewing Enjoyment

A right-side of LG Minibeam Pro model PF1500 emitting light.

SEOUL, Mar. 23, 201— Instead of relaxing and enjoying its position as the industry’s top LED projector maker1, LG is rolling out two new portable projectors this month as part of its popular Minibeam lineup. The Minibeam Pro (Model PF1500) is the perfect portable home theater solution while the smaller Minibeam TV (Model PW800) is an on-the-go TV solution.

LG Minibeam projectors are remarkably lightweight and offer greater portability than conventional projectors. Both projectors fit easily in a backpack or tote and take seconds to set up. Their wireless connectivity allows easy content mirroring to a smartphone, tablet PC or laptop. The lifespan of the LED illumination system is estimated at 30,000 hours, which means that viewers could theoretically enjoy their Minibeam projectors 8 hours-a-day for over ten years without having to replace three light units.

LG’s Minibeam Pro with Full HD resolution (1920 x 1080) is the top-of-the-line model in portable projectors. The PF1500 weighs only 1.5 kilograms but outputs 1400 ANSI lumens at an image size of 120 inches diagonal. Although compact, the Minibeam Pro is capable of replicating a near cinematic experience. With its four corner keystone buttons, viewers can easily eliminate the distortion even when the projector isn’t perfectly aligned with the screen. The PF1500 also has an optical zoom to adjust the size of the image without sacrificing sharpness. The Minibeam Pro can also connect via Bluetooth to soundbars, portable speakers and wireless earphones for an excellent sound experience no matter what the environment.

The LG Minibeam TV is everything that a customer would need in a television projection system, but smaller. Model PA75K, introduced in 2013, was a best seller among customers who wanted the big-screen experience but had limited space or didn’t want a huge flat panel to dominate their wall. Improving upon the PA75K with a brighter picture, smaller dimensions while using less energy, the PW800 is the first TV tuner-equipped portable projector to meet with customers on every continent. Viewers can exchange all their favorite TV shows wherever they are without having to sacrifice the comforts of a large 100-inch image.

“As the world’s top manufacturer of LED projectors, we will continue to deliver innovative ideas for those who enjoy home entertainment but aren’t looking to convert their entire living room into a screening room.” said In-kyu Lee, senior vice president and head of the TV and Monitor Division at LG Electronics’ Home Entertainment Company.

Both the PF1500 and PW800 models will be available starting this month in the United States and Korea before their availability in the weeks to come in markets around the world.

LG AKA, THE PHONE WITH A PERSONALITY, NOW AVAILABLE OVERSEAS

Companion Smartphone Lets You Express, Create and Make Your Own Fun

From left to right; Eggy, Wooky, Soul and Yo-Yo

SEOUL, Mar. 19, 2015 — LG Electronics (LG) will begin the first overseas rollout of its fun and customizable AKA smartphone starting in Hong Kong next week followed by China, Taiwan, Singapore and Turkey with additional markets to be announced as they are confirmed. Originally designed for the domestic market, AKA was first introduced to Korean customers at the end of 2014, where it has seen healthy sales and positive customer feedback for its originality and sense of humor.

AKA is available in four different personas, from Eggy in yellow who falls frequently in love, the ever-so-impulsive Wooky in white, the soft-hearted and music-loving Soul in navy and Yo-Yo in pink who is always on a diet. The characters’ personalities are an integral part of each phone as they are woven into wallpapers, widgets and ringtones. In addition to each AKA’s interactive, animated eyes, owners can customize their phones with stickers (provided), markers or paint, for a true DIY experience. This customer-centric thinking helped AKA win an iF Design Award for its unconventional approach to smartphone design.

With a global audience in mind, LG tweaked the AKA lineup by adding an emotional UX element. Some of the additional features include customizable glasses and eyebrows for each pair of eyes. Another unique UX feature is the included Art Toy figurine, which can be digitized and integrated into the phone’s user experience. Snapping a photo of the accompanying figurine with AKA’s Snapshoot tool creates an animated 3D version of the figure that appears alongside selfies. Other camera features come straight from LG’s premium handsets and include Laser Auto Focus, Touch & Shoot and Gesture Shot.

To celebrate AKA’s overseas rollout, LG is collaborating with TUBA Entertainment, the creators of the popular Larva animated series, to produce a new series called Rotary Park. The first episode of Rotary Park will debut on March 20 on YouTube (www.youtube.com/user/TheRotarypark).

“AKA is the first smartphone that gives owners a blank canvas to express their own personalities via a customized user experience,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “AKA is about being creative and never losing sight of the things that make us young and interesting. This is a whole new direction in smartphone UX and we’re excited about where it may take us.”

LG RECOGNIZED BY UNITED NATIONS FOR EMISSION REDUCTION EFFORTS

First in Appliance Industry to Earn CER Credits

for Energy-Efficient Refrigerator Project

Four LG India employees around LG refrigerator acquired CER credits

SEOUL, Mar. 6, 201— LG Electronics (LG) has become the world’s first to receive Certified Emission Reduction (CER) credits in appliance industry, from the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) project encouraged by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).

Established at the Kyoto Protocol, the CDM awards emission-reduction projects in developing countries with CER credits, with each credit equivalent to one ton of CO2. This cooperative mechanism allows the country or the private sector to meet their Kyoto Protocol targets while contributing to the sustainable development of developing counties through these investments.

In the Indian market, LG acquired CER credits for its enhanced energy efficient refrigerators . The refrigerator project was awarded CER credits equivalent to the amount of reduced energy consumption. LG, which earned approximately seven-thousand tons in CER credit earlier this month, expects to eliminate 5.8 million tons of CO2 for the refrigerator project over the next 10 years. Credits earned through this effort are expected to create as much as EUR 3.1 million (USD 3.4 million) in additional revenue, of which a portion will be donated to assist impoverished women and children in India.

“We are delighted to be able to actively respond to today’s environmental challenges with our innovative products and solutions,” said Choong-hak Lee, executive vice president and head of LG’s corporate social responsibility efforts. “LG is serious about its responsibility to the planet and as a leading global appliance company, we are committed to working with the UNFCCC.”

Zona gama media: El premium asequible

With this new wearable you can make calls, send messages and communicate with other devices by voice without using the smartphone

LG_Watch_Urbane_LTE_12

Madrid, February 26, 2015 -LG continues to bet on wireless technology, which is why it has shown the world’s first LTE smartwatch at the Mobile World Congress 2015 (MWC) that took place in Barcelona. The new LG Watch Urbane LTE is a new generation wearable that includes NFC and other new features that have never been offered by this type of devices.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE is LG’s fourth and most ambitious smartwatch. It combines the style and sophistication of an analog clock with the high-tech technology around its 1.3-inch circular P-OLED screen. Beneath its dial and stainless steel body, the LG Watch Urbane LTE houses all the features of a smartphone. You can answer calls and send messages, as with any 4G phone. With mobile network connectivity, this smartwatch also has push-to-talk (PTT) functionality, that is, by pressing a button users can communicate with other devices in the same network as if it were a walkie talkie.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE works with a new operating system for LG wearables, developed specifically for the company’s devices. Beyond the operating system, this smartwatch inherits most of the features of the LG Watch R, including the Always-on environment mode functionality. The new LG Watch Urbane LTE comes equipped with a long-lasting 700mAh battery, which gives it a great autonomy for calls and time of use, it can even stand several days in sleep mode.

“The LG Watch Urbane is an example of the kind of innovation that only leaders in LTE technology can perform,” said Juno Cho, president and CEO of LG Electronics’ mobile telephony division. “This smartwatch opens a new field of possibilities, being the first in this category with LTE connectivity and which really looks like a classic watch, its development fits perfectly within our philosophy of innovating to make people’s lives easier”.

This smartwatch has on the right side of the dial three buttons that allow access to the functions without having to scroll through the menus on the screen. The button above is the access to the quick configuration menu where the user can consult and adjust the use of the battery, the brightness of the screen, the volume or the connection settings. The one in the center changes between the clock interface and a list of installed applications. And the button below is used to go back when you press fast, but if you press it for a long time the emergency functionality is activated by automatically calling any pre-configured number and sending the person’s location.

The LG Watch Urbane LTE stands out for its innovative connectivity options in the wearables market. From the wrist, users will have access to their virtual wallet thanks to NFC technology, which means they can pay for meals, movie tickets and even public transport, without having to look for the wallet in their pocket. With this payment system, not only will it be possible to buy cinema tickets but you can also have a reminder a few hours before.

This smartwatch is also designed for athletes, since it has a heart rate monitor and advanced motion sensors that make it much easier to track physical activity than with a smartphone. In addition to this functionality, the LG Watch Urbane LTE includes features for golf lovers, cyclists or hikers. This wearable has an IP67 certification, which means that it is resistant to dust and water, being able to submerge at a depth of 1 meter of water up to 30 minutes.

LG Watch Urbane adapts to the tastes of each person or the different occasions, since it has a clock interface that allows to change from the bottom of the dial to the hands. For this you can even use photos from a smartphone or tablet.
