“TOUCH, A BIG PART OF LG V40 THINQ’S DESIGN”

Inspiring New Colors, Unique Finishing and Materials for Better Feel  The top, rear half of the LG V40 ThinQ in Carmine Red, showing off the microscopic pits on the rear glass of the LG etched by employing the proprietary Silky Blast™ treatment

SEOUL, Sep. 28, 2018 — With the LG V40 ThinQ, LG worked on improving the fundamentals that made the V series line of smartphones popular among consumers and industry pundits alike. The three key design factors that shaped the upcoming LG V40 ThinQ were smooth touch, unique color and seamless form, according to LG’s head of design for mobile products.

“The design philosophy behind the LG V40 ThinQ focuses on features that are unique to LG phones such as the FullVision display while introducing subtle elements that emphasize its simple and clean aesthetics,” said Lee Jung-hoon, head of design at LG Electronics’ Mobile Communications Company. “We wanted customers to be pleasantly surprised by the feel of the LG V40 ThinQ when they first hold it in their hands.”

When it comes to smartphone usability, proper “grip feel” is essential. To deliver the most satisfyingly smooth sensation in the hand, LG employed a proprietary Silky BlastTM treatment to etch microscopic pits on the rear glass of the LG V40 ThinQ. The treatment makes the surface less slippery and less prone to fingerprints without affected the durability of the glass. Design simplicity is further employed by hiding all non-essential visual elements such as the front sensors, the only visible outlines being the cameras and speaker.

Available in colors such as New Aurora Black, New Platinum Gray and New Moroccan Blue, the LG V40 ThinQ carries on the refinement and sophistication of previous V series devices. A more elegant and deeper Carmine Red replaces Raspberry Rose as the brighter option for those who feel a bit more adventurous. Availability of colors will depend on the specific market.

The display of the LG V40 ThinQ is almost a half inch larger than its predecessor but maintains the same comfortable width for a secure grip. Bezels have been reduced even further for more immersive edge-to-edge effect while at the same time remaining among the lightest and thinnest in the industry for a phone with a display measuring greater than six inches.

LG Electronics’ ultra-premium brand, known for its innovative technology infused with the Art of Essence, invited world-class chefs to create unique dishes that reflected their “essence” as experts in the culinary arts.

French star chef Juan Arbelaez focuses on cooking food using the high-end LG SIGNATURE home appliances.

The challenge was filmed as a series with a new episode broadcasted every day at the 2018 Evian Championship from September 13-16. The first episode of What’s your signature? featured Michelin star chef Patrice Vander from Les Fresques at the Hotel Royal who prepared his unique take on a typical French tartar dish and recommended the perfect wine to match. Christopher Crell of Germany and Juan Arbelaez of France created their own signature dishes in the following episodes which were then served to Korean golfers Park Sung-hyun and Chun In-gee.

LG SIGNATURE appliances played a key role in the challenge, including LG’s uber premium refrigerator and new wine cellar. The chefs were able to streamline their meal preparation by taking advantage of the numerous advanced features and technologies incorporated in the aesthetic LG SIGNATURE range. These innovations include Multi Temperature Control to create the ideal storage conditions for different types of wine and Auto Door Open which opens the refrigerator when it senses the presence of a person.

CEO and CTO Deliver Joint Opening Keynote in Berlin,
Detailing LG Artificial Intelligence Strategies for First TimeLG Electronics chief executive officer, Jo Seong-jin, stands right next to the LG CLOi robot.

BERLIN, Aug. 31, 2018 — Outlining the strategic direction for the new era of artificial intelligence, LG Electronics (LG) chief executive officer Jo Seong-jin and president and chief technology officer Dr. I.P Park delivered the joint opening keynote address at IFA 2018.

This marks the first time that LG’s top executives have given a keynote address at a major global exhibition. Entitled Think Wise. Be Free: Living Freer with AI, the speech was experienced by more than 1,000 industry VIPs, influencers and journalists gathered in Berlin to hear LG’s framework for the future of AI.

LG’s IFA opening keynote represents a significant milestone for the company, demonstrating how its commitment to staying at the forefront of AI development in the consumer electronics industry has earned it prominence in the world stage at Europe’s largest consumer electronics exhibition.

Following the launch of the LG ThinQ earlier this year, LG has been focused on demonstrating the impact of its vibrant ecosystem embedded with a powerful AI solution based on LG’s open platform, open partnership and open connectivity strategy.

CEO Jo, a 42-year LG veteran, led the keynote, emphasizing the company’s underlying drive to provide consumers with a better life, defining this as the increased availability of freer and smarter choices in everyday living. He expressed his firm belief that advances in AI are key to presenting new possibilities for a better life.

“Combined with edge computing and big data, as well as the ability to harness the enhanced connectivity of 5G, AI will bring each aspect of our lives into a seamless connected experience. Your home will know what kind of day you had in the office and will roll out the welcome mat by preparing the perfect environment for when you walk in the door,” said Mr. Jo.

CTO Park took the stage next and explained three key pillars of artificial intelligence: Evolve, Connect and Open. With the overarching message that AI is more than innovation for the sake of innovation but is in fact the very meaning of Innovation for a Better Life, Dr. Park went on to illustrate how these three key AI pillars will enhance our lives.

The evolution of AI must be based on continually increasing communication with users, according to Dr. Park, who explained LG’s methodology for the development of core AI technology: First, the company’s focus on speech recognition, image recognition, biometric recognition and deep learning algorithms; second, the benefits of seamless connectivity offered through LG’s diverse product portfolio that make it possible to eliminate the traditional constraints of space and time; and third, the infinite potential offered through increased connectivity, using LG’s robot vacuum cleaner as an example. He concluded by highlighting the importance of an open AI ecosystem and explaining LG’s intuitive webOS operating system.

The keynote also featured leading global AI experts, including renowned researcher Dr. Andrew Ng; Matthew Perry, chairman of the Open Connectivity Foundation; Peter Kürpick, CTO of mapping technology firm HERE; and Kong Kyoung-chul, CEO of wearable robotics startup SG Robotics. These guest speakers were uniform in their support of LG’s vision for the future of AI.

Messe Berlin Group executive vice president and IFA executive director Jens Heithecker commended the keynote, saying, “We were pleased to have LG open the event by discussing AI, the hottest technology in the consumer electronics industry. I believe that attendees share LG’s vision for technology built around a user-centered philosophy and hope visitors will have a chance to visit the LG booth.”

LG will be showcasing its extensive lineup of consumer electronics and robots equipped with the latest AI technologies in the LG ThinQ zones in the LG booth, which together with the IFA opening keynote, further establishing the company’s credentials as an AI leader around the world.

LG CENTUM SYSTEM™ REFRIGERATOR RAISES THE BAR ON ENERGY EFFICIENCY AT IFA 2018

New Refrigerator Boasts Impressive Performance, Innovative Design
and Durability Backed by Long-term Warranty Little girl and her parents cutting fruit on the counter with LG Centum System™ bottom-freezer refrigerator in the background

BERLIN, Aug. 29, 2018 — LG Electronics (LG) is set to break new ground again with the unveiling of its new bottom-freezer refrigerator at IFA 2018. The innovative bottom-freezer refrigerator stands out from the competition with market-leading energy efficiency as well as durability and an array of convenience-enhancing features. The refrigerator is also the first in the industry to come with a 20-year warranty for its internal compressor. With Centum System technology inside, it is the natural choice for consumers looking for an advanced efficient refrigerator that will stand the test of time.

These benefits are achieved by integrating several advanced technologies to form dynamic customer-oriented solutions. The refrigerator’s powerhouse is the LG Inverter Linear Compressor which is 32 percent more energy efficient than conventional compressors. * This and a range of other efficient features combine to cut the bottom-freezer refrigerator power consumption and give an energy rating of A+++-40 percent, far superior to the competition. This means that the refrigerator uses 40 percent less power than models with an A+++  energy rating and will make it easier than ever to save on electric bills.

The advanced Inverter Linear Compressor also significantly boosts reliability and durability. Rigorous product testing found that LG’s Inverter Linear Compressor-equipped Centum System refrigerator was subject to notably less wear and tear from daily use while also producing up to 25 percent less noise. * This same research also placed that the average lifespan of the refrigerator’s core technology at roughly 20 years, far exceeding the competition.

Internally, the new Centum System bottom-freezer refrigerator is also equipped with a range of freshness-enhancing features that put LG’s user-oriented philosophy into practice. Linear Cooling™ keeps temperature fluctuation within ±0.5˚C while Fresh Balancer and Fresh Converter give users simplified control over the humidity and temperature to create ideal conditions for each food type. In addition, DoorCooling+™ circulates cold air from the top of the machine to ensure uniform temperatures even in hard-to-reach areas like the front door basket. With elegant design cues befitting its advanced internal technology, Centum System bottom-freezer refrigerator boasts stunning matte black and stainless steel finishing. The seamless metal touch display on the front and full metal designed interior complete the design by adding a subtle touch of unique elegance.

“LG has long worked to develop a bottom-freezer refrigerator that set new standards in not just energy savings and durability but also design and the new Centum System bottom-freezer refrigerator represents the culmination of these efforts,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Our premium Centum System bottom-freezer will help cement LG’s long-standing leadership in the global premium refrigerator market.”

Visitors to LG’s IFA booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin from August 31 to September 5 will have a chance to see the new bottom-freezer refrigerator and other home innovations for themselves.

LG INTRODUCES WORLD’S FIRST 8K OLED TV AT IFA

First To Mass Produce Large Screen OLED TVs,
LG Poised to Lead Market in Advanced Premium TV Technologies Two models look in awe at the world’s first LG 8K OLED TV displayed at IFA 2018.

BERLIN, Aug. 29, 2018 — Already a leader in advancing TV innovation with its OLED TVs, LG Electronics (LG) is introducing the world’s first 8K (7,680 x 4,320) OLED TV at IFA 2018. The 88-inch 8K LG OLED TV features over 33 million self-emitting pixels to produce the unmatched contrast ratio and true blacks that define OLED TV’s iconic picture quality.

With OLED TV shipments in the market expected to double in 2018 and reach over nine million units by 2022, LG will continue to increase the OLED share in its premium TV portfolio and drive large scale consumer adoption of OLED TVs. While the 8K TV market is still in its infancy, it is expected to grow to more than 5 million units by 2022 and LG is committed to leading the ultra-premium market with its 8K OLED TV technology.

Despite advancements in LCD field, OLED has been often referred to as the “next-generation display technology” because it emits its own light, eliminating the need for any kind of backlighting. This allows for state-of-art TVs which redefine both the picture quality and the product design. Not only was LG able to pioneer such technologies, but it was also able to successfully market them.

“LG’s first 8K OLED TV is the pinnacle of technological achievement and the next evolutionary step in display technology” said Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company. “4K OLED played a major role in reshaping TV industry and LG is confident that 8K OLED will do the same.”

Visitors can take a first look at the 88-inch 8K LG OLED TV at IFA 2018, along with other innovations in TV technologies in the LG booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin.

LG BUILDS ON SUCCESSFUL G7 SERIES PLATFORM WITH TWO EVEN MORE ACCESSIBLE MODELS

LG G7 One and LG G7 Fit Offer Flagship-Level
Intelligent Features at Exceptional Price PointsThe front and rear view of the LG G7 Fit in New Aurora Black

SEOUL, Aug. 28, 2018 — At IFA 2018, LG Electronics (LG) will be introducing two exciting additions to the G7 series of smartphones with the LG G7 One and LG G7 Fit. Building on the foundation of the advanced LG G7 ThinQ, both of the new phones offer a balance of premium features and exceptional prices for discerning customers.

Many consumers today are turning their attention to legacy flagship smartphones which are seen as offering better values compared to the newest mid-range models. These customers aren’t satisfied with mediocre components but also don’t want to pay for over-the-top features in some of today’s premium phones that they will never use. The challenge is finding the smartphone with just the right balance.

LG G7 One

The LG G7 One is the first Android One smartphone from LG that brings together the best of the company’s smartphone experience and expertise with Google’s latest smartphone OS innovations. Designed to be one of the most versatile Android One smartphones on the market today, the LG G7 One sports the proven Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 mobile platform paired with 4GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. It has the same all-glass design aesthetic of the LG G7 ThinQ with a polished metal rim for a sleek and slim appearance that is rated IP68 for dust and water resistance. The 6.1-inch QHD+ (3120 x 1440) Super Bright Display sporting a 19.5:9 FullVision screen ratio and thin bottom bezel completes the premium style that savvy consumers are looking for.

The LG G7 One runs Android 8.1 Oreo and includes only the most essential apps out of the box, providing users with a smooth and fast smartphone experience. The phone automatically optimizes background activity for the most important operations to maximize battery life. Users can conveniently access the rich AI experience of the Google Assistant by tapping the dedicated button on the side of the phone. LG’s first Android One phone will receive regular security updates with built-in Google Play Protect for total peace of mind.

Also available on the LG G7 One is Google Lens, Google’s new way to search using computer vision and AI technology. Available from inside the Google Assistant and Google Photos, users can search for information about objects, identify text, visit websites, include business cards in contacts, add new events to the calendar or look up an item on a restaurant menu without any typing.

More consumers are using smartphones as primary devices to enjoy music and movies. The LG G7 One is the perfect companion device for unwinding and relaxing with its 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC for superb sound when paired with quality earphones. The LG G7 One also delivers virtual 3D sound for all content, up to 7.1 channel audio with DTS:X.

For those who prefer to listen to music without earphones, the LG G7 One also features the unique Boombox Speaker which utilizes the internal space of the phone as a resonance chamber to deliver double the bass and audio of conventional smartphones. When placed on a solid surface or box, the resonance chamber acts as a woofer to amplify the bass effect even more. AI CAM, first introduced in the LG V30S, will be added with an update later this year.

LG G7 Fit

LG G7 Fit was designed to bridge the gap between mid-range and flagship models, delivering exceptional value and performance as well as key features and innovations introduced in the LG G7 ThinQ. Featuring Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 coupled with 4GB of RAM and 32GB or 64GB of internal storage, the LG G7 Fit comes with the stunning 6.1-inch LCD FullVision display with QHD+ (3120 x 1440) resolution powered by LG’s exclusive Super Bright Display LCD to delivery an industry-leading 1,000 nits of brightness.

Like the LG G7 ThinQ, the LG G7 Fit offers premium and intelligent features such as AI CAM, 32-bit Hi-Fi Quad DAC, Boombox Speaker and DTS:X 3D Surround Sound. AI CAM lets users choose from eight shooting categories – person, food, pet, landscape, city, flower, sunrise and sunset – for perfectly optimized shots along with three effects options for even more personalization.

“Both the LG G7 One and the LG G7 Fit are designed to allow a broader range of consumers enjoy LG smartphones with proven and flagship-level features,” said Ha Jeung-uk, senior vice president and business unit leader for LG’s Mobile Communications Company. “As the smartphone ecosystem matures, it’s not enough to just offer premium and mid-range phones, there is a growing demand for models in between.”

Visitors to IFA 2018 from August 31 to September 5 can visit LG’s booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin to experience and get more information on the LG G7 One and LG G7 Fit. Pricing and other purchase details will be announced locally at the time of availability.

LG FOCUSES ON GAMING AT IFA WITH NEW ULTRAGEAR™ MONITORS

Powerful Monitors Deliver Superb Picture and Fast Processing
to Transform the Gaming Experience A right-side and rear view of LG UltraGear Gaming Monitor.

BERLIN, Aug. 28, 2018 — LG Electronics is demonstrating its commitment to gaming technology with the announcement of its new UltraGear™ monitors at IFA 2018 in Berlin this week. The monitors take immersion to a new level thanks to their powerful performance, superb picture quality and speedy refresh rate. These factors combine with the UltraWide™ 21:9 screen and stylish design to create an immersive playing field that enhances the gaming experience.

LG has long been recognized for its monitors, including the best-in-class picture of the LG UltraFine™ and the productivity-enhancing properties of the LG UltraWide™ 21: 9 monitor. UltraGear is the name of LG’s new gaming monitors that deliver the ultimate in high-performance entertainment. With their optimal picture quality and lightning-fast processing speed, these monitors are ideal for all genres of games. The LG UltraGear lineup gives gamers the edge to play at their highest level and in gaming that could mean the difference between winning and respawning.

The flagship UltraGear model 34GK950G boasts the most powerful features in the lineup with unprecedented picture quality thanks to the Nano IPS display technology that covers 98 percent of the DCI-P3 color space. The same display also accurately recreates colors across over 135 percent of the sRGB color space. With NVIDIA G-SyncTM graphic processing technology built-in, the UltraGear 34GK950G provides smooth motion without tearing or stuttering. What’s more, its high refresh rate of 120Hz (overclocked) means that objects are rendered more clearly for smoother gameplay and seamless visual fluidity.

With its immersive 34-inch display and crystal clear UltraWide QHD (3440 x 1440) image rendering, the 2018 Red Dot Design Award and 2018 iF Design Award winning monitor’s 21:9 wide aspect ratio adds a cinematic touch to gaming, giving users a new perspective on their favorite games. The wide ratio of the UltraGear 34GK950G makes it easier to see details off to the side that might normally be missed while its ultra-thin bezels makes it easier to connect multiple monitors for an even more immersive experience. And gamers can create their own unique ambiance with Sphere Lighting that boasts six color settings to complement any game or movie.

“LG’s monitors have been setting standards in the industry for many years and LG UltraGear will be no exception,” said Jang Ik-hwan, head of LG’s IT Business Division. “Announcing our UltraGear monitors at Europe’s largest industry event is demonstration of our confidence and excitement about this new brand.”

LG EXPANDS ULTRA-PREMIUM LINEUP WITH NEW PRODUCTS HIGHLIGHTED BY WINE CELLAR

Joined by Premium Dryer and Bottom-Freezer Refrigerator
in LG SIGNATURE’s First Expansion Since 2016 Launch A front image of the LG SIGNATURE ultra-premium product lineup.

BERLIN, Aug. 27, 2018 — LG Electronics (LG) will unveil an expanded LG SIGNATURE ultra-premium product lineup at IFA 2018 in Berlin, highlighted by a new wine cellar, dryer and bottom-freezer refrigerator.

The concept, The Art of Essence, was the inspiration behind the philosophy of the LG SIGNATURE brand, which launched in 2016. LG SIGNATURE products were stripped of all features that detracted from the brand’s spirit, resulting in the streamlined look that exemplifies products of the finest quality that deliver a sense of exclusivity to its owners.

The exclusive LG SIGNATURE wine cellar is capable of storing 65 bottles within its sleek metal frame and features numerous innovative technologies such as Multi Temperature Control which creates the ideal storage conditions for different types of wine. The drawer refrigerator in the wine cellar with Automatic Lift allows for easy access to the wine inside with the press of a button. Use voice recognition to open the door or turn on the interior light to see what’s inside through the darkened glass, saving energy and avoiding unnecessary exposure to sunlight.

A high-end clothes dryer will be joining LG SIGNATURE for the first time this year. The 10kg dryer can detect the amount of laundry inside the drum and adjust setting to match, with no input from the user. A rapid drying feature is complemented by the advanced Condenser Automatic Cleansing System which uses streaming water to clear away lint build up, allowing the dryer to operate consistently at peak efficiency.

The new LG SIGNATURE bottom-freezer refrigerator boasts an array of advanced features including Automatic Lift to raise the drawer to eye level for easier access to the contents. The improved Auto Door Open feature senses when a person approaches and automatically opens the door twice as wide as before, a real convenience when one’s arms are full of groceries.

To highlight the wine cellar’s aesthetics and advanced technology, LG SIGNATURE partnered with James Suckling, a prominent figure in the international wine community whose reviews are widely read and respected. Mr. Suckling will host several wine tasting sessions for VIP guests at the LG SIGNATURE booth in Messe Berlin on August 30 and 31, highlighting the wine cellar’s ability to preserve or improve a wine’s flavor. French winery Lou Dumont will also be on hand to serve visitors a sampling of its best vintage.

“Combining beautiful design with the latest technologies while staying true to a product’s essence is what LG SIGNATURE is all about,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG’s Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Expanding our LG SIGNATURE collection to seven products allows even more consumers to experience the joy of owning a home appliance that resembles a work of art.”

Visitors to LG’s booth in Hall 18 during IFA will be able to see the latest additions to the LG SIGNATURE lineup for themselves.

LG TVS WITH AI THINQ® IN MORE MARKETS TO GET THE GOOGLE ASSISTANT

LG TV Customers to Benefit From More Languages and Smart Home Connectivity

SEOUL, Aug. 24, 2018 — Even more LG Electronics (LG) TV customers will be able to use the Google Assistant on their 2018 TVs with AI ThinQ in the fourth quarter. LG will be introducing the Google Assistant in seven more markets – Australia, Canada, France, Germany, South Korea, Spain and the United Kingdom – with support in up to five languages. This expansion is part of LG’s global strategy to raise the bar for voice recognition solutions enabled with LG’s ThinQ platform and the Google Assistant built in. LG first announced that the Google Assistant would be built into its TVs at CES 2018 with the service debuting in the United States in the second quarter.

The Google Assistant will be available on all of LG’s webOS-based AI TVs in the new markets, offering a wide range of features and boosted accessibility in multiple languages. With the Google Assistant built in, LG’s 2018 AI ThinQ-enabled TVs offer a streamlined experience that allows users to manage daily tasks, find answers or control compatible smart home devices. Simply press and hold the mic button and ask for information, such as the weather forecast, a nearby restaurant’s hours, the latest sports scores or to dim the lights without interrupting the viewing experience. Users can also relive their favorite moments by displaying pictures from Google Photos.

With help from the Google Assistant, LG’s AI TVs can serve as the center of the smart home, offering access to numerous devices such as robot vacuum cleaners, thermostats, air purifiers and smart lighting. The Google Assistant is compatible with more than 5,000 smart devices across hundreds of popular brands, making it easier to control speakers and other smart home devices connected via Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. Customers in English-speaking markets such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and Canada can already connect Google Home devices to LG AI-enabled TVs to send voice commands directly from their smart speakers. This feature will become available to customers in France, Germany, Japan and South Korea by the end of 2018. Compatibility with Amazon Alexa-enabled devices – currently available in the U.K. and the U.S. – will be expanded to Australia and Canada as well.

On top of the Google Assistant integration, LG’s AI TVs use LG’s exclusive deep learning technology which allows viewers to use natural language to quickly and easily connect such TVs to external devices or search for specific information or content simply by issuing a verbal request. Switching TV stations, turning the volume up or down, turning off when a show is over, reminding you when a favorite show is about to air or finding the best content to watch – whether through cable, over-the-air or streaming service – are just a few ways ThinQ helps viewers enjoy their daily watching experience.

“LG’s vision is to become a major name in all things AI based on our philosophy of open platform, open partnership and open connectivity,” said Brian Kwon, president of LG Home Entertainment Company. “Beyond the unrivaled picture quality that LG’s premium TVs deliver, the Google Assistant offers even more consumers a new level of intelligence in the home, aligned with LG’s mission to improve the daily lives of its customers through forward-thinking technology.”

Visitors to IFA are encouraged to stop by LG’s booth in Hall 18 of Messe Berlin for a hands-on demonstration of LG’s AI ThinQ-enabled TVs with the Google Assistant while experiencing the best in OLED technology such as the immersive OLED Canyon.

LG TO USHER IN NEW ERA OF AI ROBOTICS WITH WEARABLE ROBOT

CLOi SuitBot, LG’s First Human-centric Robot Designed for Industry and Healthcare Man wearing LG CLOi SuitBot to move a box to the LG Shopping Cart Robot in a LG warehouse

SEOUL, Aug. 23, 2018 — Focused on becoming a leading developer of service robots in the next decade, LG Electronics (LG) will unveil to the public at IFA 2018 its first “human-centric” wearable robot. But unlike previously announced robots from LG such as Guide Robot, Cleaning Robot and Serving Robot, the LG CLOi SuitBot doesn’t navigate airport lounges and hotel hallways by itself. What it does is support and enhance a user’s legs to allow for more mobility and lower limb strength.

Last year LG invested in a startup that develops robots to overcome the limitations of the human body in everyday life. LG CLOi SuitBot was designed in collaboration with the startup, SG ROBOTICS, who has been studying how wearable robots can improve the quality of life. A comfortable fit and naturally rotating joints allow the CLOi SuitBot to move in a more relaxed and natural way to enhance the lower body while walking, standing or working. Its sandal-type shoes and automatic adjustment feature allow the wearer to get in and out of the suit more easily, differentiating LG CLOi SuitBot from many other exoskeletons.

And LG CLOi SuitBot can connect to other LG service robots (first announced at CES 2018) to become part of a smart working network to deliver information and tools required at work sites such as manufacturing, logistics and distribution. LG CLOi service robots are being developed as part of LG’s larger AI initiative for the commercial sector. AI technology allows LG CLOi SuitBot to learn and evolve through the recognition and analysis of biometric and environment data, measuring and analyzing movements to suggest proper movements and stances for power efficiency.

“LG CLOi SuitBot is evidence of our full commitment to expanding our portfolio of service robots that deliver tangible convenience and innovation in our lives,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG’s Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “It’s just one example of a wide range of revolutionary AI products designed to interact with users to dramatically elevate user convenience and create new opportunities to advance our robotics initiative into a next-gen growth engine.”

Visitors to LG’s booth in Hall 18 at IFA in Berlin from August 31 to September 5 will be able to experience LG’s exciting robot lineup for themselves.
