Experience a Cleaner, More Comfortable Indoor Environment with
LG PuriCare and DUALCOOL ThinQ™ Stand Inverter Air Conditioner in the Home
SEOUL, Dec. 20, 2017 – LG Electronics will impress participants at CES 2018 with its newest, smart air solutions for the home. LG PuriCare air purifier featuring fine dust sensor and DUALCOOL ThinQ™ Stand Inverter air conditioner with voice recognition and DeepThinQ technology make experiencing purer, cleaner air indoors more convenient.
High-Tech Smart Removal of Fine Dust
Studies have shown that indoor pollen and dust affect the quality of life of families world over. Using a sensitive air monitoring sensor, LG PuriCare automatically removes fine dust particles when the air quality is deemed uncomfortable for residents. Air monitoring occurs even when the PuriCare is off, only powering on when filtering is required. With its distinctive cylindrical design, PuriCare boasts the industry’s advanced air filtration technology with LG’s 360° Total Care Filter System. And thanks to its powerful Clean Booster feature, LG PuriCare is capable of blowing clean air up to 7.5 meters away to cover even large rooms while delivering gentler airflow at the base, making this an ideal product for families with young children and pets.
Boosted Convenience with Voice Recognition
Also debuting at CES will be LG’s DUALCOOL ThinQ™ Stand Inverter Air Conditioner equipped with voice technology allowing home owners to control their indoor temperature with a single phrase from the entrance of their home or from another room. In addition to its high energy efficiency and lower noise levels thanks to the Dual Inverter Compressor, DUALCOOL ThinQ™ employs LG’s DeepThinQ AI technology to direct more airflow in the direction of individuals in the room using spatial recognition. In addition to recognizing the presence of people in the room, the Intelligent Human Movement Sensor also adjusts the strength of the air flow depending on the proximity of the person or people to the unit. By analyzing the daily behavioral patterns of the residents, the LG DUALCOOL ThinQ™ air conditioner learns what parts of the house require cooling at specific times of the day to maintain appropriate temperatures and save energy.
“LG’s intelligent home appliances are leading the industry in their capability to predict user needs to create a more comfortable living environment,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG’s Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Artificial intelligence is at a level now where it can do more than just play chess and LG is committed to using this technology to improve consumers’ quality of life.”
Visitors to CES 2018 can personally experience LG’s smart air solutions products at booth #11100 in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center from January 9-12.

Newest Family-Size Edition Features Expanded 6-Garment Capacity
SEOUL, Dec. 19, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) will showcase a larger version of its revolutionary Styler at the upcoming CES 2018, complete with an expanded interior allowing storage of up to six garments. Wi-Fi connectivity and other smart features also boost user convenience of the LG Styler a step further to make life easier for modern consumers on the go.
The newest Styler can care for a wide range of garments and items for the entire family – including clothing that requires extra delicate care such as brassieres, blouses, coats and formal wear to jeans, jumpers, or even babywear and plush toys. The Moving Hanger can hold up to five items of clothing, and the Pants Crease Care inside the elegantly designed Glass Door can hold larger pants, even up to a waist size of 48 inches, while leaving a longer crease of up to 60 centimeters. The LG Styler’s expanded interior allows room for clothes that occupy a larger amount of space such as down jackets and padded winter coats.
The Styler’s Wi-Fi compatibility and easy-to-use smartphone controls takes user convenience to a new level. Various styling courses are available for download and the mobile app can be used to track energy consumption or set up to notify the user at the conclusion of a cleaning cycle. For clothes with NFC tags, the smartphone app can scan the tag and inform the Styler which course is most effective.
At the heart of the Styler is LG’s innovative TrueSteam™ technology which gently sanitizes garments and neutralizes unpleasant odors, removing over 99 percent of allergens and bacteria in clothing.1 The hot steam sprayed directly onto clothes sterilizes as well as straightens while the Moving Hanger shakes out remaining wrinkles. The Easy Pants Crease Care also reduces behind-the-knee creases on pants and can even leave a crisp line down the center of each leg for a sharp finish.
“The new LG Styler is the suitable solution for consumers who want to put themselves forward, tailoring garment solutions to help users maintain a refreshed and ready look for any occasion,” said Song Dae-hyun, president and CEO of the LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Co. “It’s no surprise that the Styler has sparked a whole new category in the clothing care market in countries where caring for one’s wardrobe is serious business.”
Don’t miss LG’s newest Styler slated to be on display at CES 2018 from Jan. 9-12 in booth #11100 in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

2018 Laptop Delivers Longer Battery Life, More Powerful
Performance and Sturdier Build Without Sacrificing Portability
SEOUL, Dec. 14, 2017 — At CES 2018, LG Electronics (LG) will unveil its latest LG gram laptops that deliver superior portability, enhanced powerful performance and convenience features. Since the incredibly lightweight laptop line debuted in 2014, LG has consistently surprised consumers by maximizing portability without sacrificing performance. The impressive successor to its previous lineup, the LG 2018 gram laptops push the boundaries of portable computing with improved mobility and durability, as well as upgraded processors and more versatile functionality. Altogether, the gram series offers an excellent workstation for those wishing to work, study more effectively or enjoy media content for extended periods in any environment.
The new models continue to be the most easy-to-carry laptops available on the market today.1 Their ultra-thin bodies feature a highly efficient 72Wh battery which allows longer work time without plugging in, lasting up to almost a full day on a single charge.2 And the compact design allows the LG gram’s smaller form factor to feature wider screens. The 14-inch model 14Z980 is the same size as a conventional 13-inch laptop but still offers a wider display with a minimized bezel.
Equipped with the latest 8th generation Intel® CoreTM i7 and i5 processors and SSD storage, the newest LG gram devices are even more efficient and significantly faster. Users can boost work efficiency as high as 40 percent while booting time now comes in under 10 seconds. Unlike other compact laptops that achieve lower weight or smaller size by minimizing interior space, LG’s gram series offers a second SSD drive slot for even more internal storage for those large video files.
LG’s new gram models are durable enough to use even in the most extreme environments, passing seven stringent U.S. military MIL-STD 810G durability tests for resistance to impact, pressure and temperature. This improved build quality is achieved by the Nano Carbon Magnesium full metal alloy body, often used in the aerospace industry where high strength and light weight are required. The result is an increase in durability by 20 percent compared to traditional magnesium products.
The new LG gram series comes with a host of convenience-enhancing features. A user can work late into the night with the backlit keyboard, which also serves as delicate ambient lighting while highlighting the PC’s minimalist profile. The precision touchpad enhances fingertip control with a smoother and more accurate pointer system. The webcam is positioned on top of the display where it should be for flattering video calls and DTS Headphone X provides multi-channel sound of up to 11.1 channels for rich 1.5W hi-fi surround sound. The upgraded fan is even quieter and emits less heat than before.
The 2018 gram laptops carry on LG’s trend of incorporating advanced optional features into its computing products such as Touchscreen, Fingerprint Reader and ThunderboltTM 3. With LG’s new IPS In-cell Touch technology, the gram was able to maintain its compact size and the enhanced touchscreen allows for more delicate, accurate onscreen haptic control without color shift when touching the display. The Fingerprint Reader enables users to log in and power on at the same time with the press of a single button. What’s more, ThunderboltTM 3 allows for compatibility with Mac product, supports data transfer eight times faster than USB Type-C and enables seamless transmission of 4K/5K content to exterior displays.
“We’re very proud to introduce the new gram PCs, which have been designed in direct response to those wishing to get an all-round, high performance laptop with maximum portability,” said Jang Ik-hwan, head of LG’s IT business division. “LG offer more powerful laptops that deliver greater work efficiency and durability while continuing the product’s original identity of offering lightest laptop in its category. The 2018 gram series can tick all the boxes for users who want versatile and lightweight laptops with faster processing capabilities.”
LG’s latest gram laptops will be available in the U.S. market starting next month with other markets to follow soon thereafter. Visitors to CES can see the new features of the 2018 LG gram for themselves at booth #11100 in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.

LG’s Flagship and Google Daydream Offer More Immersive,
Powerful Virtual Reality Experience Than Ever Before
SEOUL, Nov. 28, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) is bringing the dreams of the young and old to life in virtual reality on its newest flagship handset in collaboration with Daydream, Google’s platform for high quality, mobile VR. Toward this effort, LG recruited a hero to help him realize his unrealized dream of nearly half a century.
Octogenarian astronaut Jim Lovell is not only one of only 24 people to have traveled to the moon, he is the first of only three people to fly to the moon twice and the only one to have gone to the moon twice without making a landing. Captain Lovell was the commander of the ill-fated Apollo 13 mission in 1970 that limped back to Earth after an oxygen tank explosion in space. Commander Lovell was finally able experience a moonwalk in VR with the help of the V30 and Daydream.
“We wanted to provide users a chance to realize their long-held dreams and explore new worlds with the powerful virtual reality experience of the V30,” said Kim Su-young, vice president and head of marketing for LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “The striking image quality of the OLED FullVision display pulls you right into the center of the VR action.”
The LG V30 is a Daydream-ready smartphone that pairs seamlessly with Google Daydream View, a headset and controller for experiencing high quality, immersive VR. The Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 835 Mobile Platform paired with the QHD+ (2880 x 1440) OLED FullVision display is protected by a body that dissipates heat efficiently and handles high-end VR games comfortably, producing excellent color contrast and fast response times. And the V30 lasts longer than many other phones with its proprietary algorithm and software optimization that make efficient use of its 3,300mAh battery. When it’s time to recharge, Qualcomm® Quick Charge™ 3.0 Technology brings the battery to 50 percent from zero in only 30 minutes.
What’s more, the advanced smartphone’s Hi-Fi Quad DAC delivers unmatched sound to maximize the sense of reality. Tipping the scale at just 158g, the V30 is the lightest smartphone in its category, making long VR sessions more comfortable.

Spanish Football Fans to Benefit from Technology Partnership
with World’s Leader in TV and Signage Innovations
MADRID, Nov. 23, 2017 — After four years of planning and extensive renovation, the Spanish professional football team Atlético de Madrid welcomed its fans to the team’s new home stadium, Estadio Wanda Metropolitano, in the eastern district of San Blas-Canillejas in Madrid. Perched on the upper edge of the third largest stadium in the country now sits four immense LED scoreboards, technology courtesy of LG Electronics (LG).
The winner of numerous titles in Spain and Europe since the club’s foundation in 1903, Atlético de Madrid wasn’t content with just any stadium. With an upgraded capacity of 68,000 spectators, the team wanted Wanda Metropolitano to set an example for modern sports arenas everywhere in delivering the benefits enjoyed by millions of home TV viewers. Now European football fans will be able to witness beautiful games like never before thanks to the partnership between LG Electronics and Atlético de Madrid. All the action will be clearly displayed on LG television and commercial LED displays visible from every corner of the modern 88,000 square meter stadium.
Two LED score boards measure 15.2m x 5.6m each and are comprised of one hundred 12mm pixel pitch LED tiles, while a third 10m x 5.6m scoreboard is made up of sixty-five 16mm pixel pitch LED tiles. A fourth scoreboard measuring 8.1m x 4.6m will be installed in the fan zone in the next several months. The scoreboards are capable of emitting and incredible 6,000 nits of brightness so every detail is clearly visible even under bright sunlight. All are controlled using LG’s distinctive color representation and processing technologies for maximum immersiveness.
For stadium operators, LG’s commercial LED displays deliver a competitive edge thanks to quick installation times, simple maintenance needs and operational efficiency. Attractive product offerings – such as the 16mm pixel pitch LED ribbon comprised of 720 tiles – provide a unique space for advertisers while also enhancing the fans’ experience with player stats and fight songs that are displayed between second and third levels.
“It has been a great experience working with Atlético Madrid, whose stadium presented an unique challenge and opportunity to demonstrate the benefits of LG’s advanced digital signage products,” said Kwon Soon-hwang, head of LG Electronics’ information display division. “Atlético de Madrid fans watching from the stands will have an excellent experience and plenty of memories to take home with them.”
“LG’s visually stunning displays fulfilled our need to make a qualitative and aesthetic leap for the new Wanda Metropolitano,” said Íñigo Aznar, Atlético de Madrid commercial director. “Thanks to LG’s technology, we are able to provide an enhanced visual and auditory experience to all spectators and club members coming to our brand new stadium, to experience live football matches, concerts or any other event.”
