SAN JOSE, CALIF., Nov. 6, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) and Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT) have partnered on the world’s first implementation of Qi wireless charging Extended Power Profile (EPP) in a flagship smartphone, the LG V30. EPP enables safe, wireless fast charging capability while remaining compatible with existing Wireless Power Consortium (WPC), Qi 5W, baseline transmitters commonly used today.

IDT’s market-leading wireless power chips are designed to provide fast wireless charging by reducing charge times by up to 30 percent. The addition of the wireless charging feature contributes to the water-resistance and durability of the sleek, low profile, Qi certified smartphone design.

LG’s latest flagship sets a new standard in the evolution of premium smartphones with its offering of optimal multimedia capabilities. The V30 features many industry innovations – the first F1.6 aperture glass Crystal Clear Lens, the first OLED FullVision display, Cine Video mode for producing movie-quality videos, premium sound with advanced Hi-Fi Quad DAC and sound tuning by B&O PLAY.

“With the introduction of the V30, LG has cemented their position as a technology leader in wireless power with the adoption of fast charging based on the extended Qi specification,” said Chris Stephens, general manager of IDT’s Mobile Power and Sensing Division. “We anticipate that the industry will follow LG’s pioneering adoption of the Extended Power Profile specification to increase wireless charging speed.”

The IDT wireless power receiver offers best-in-industry integration, efficiency, and solution area. The device is based on a flexible 32-bit ARM® M0 core architecture that has allowed LG to optimize wireless charging performance and charging speed.

“We’re again partnering with IDT on the V30 because their technology is second to none when it comes to fast, convenient wireless charging, which is a key feature for many of our premium phone customers,” said Ha Jeung-uk, vice president and head of LG Mobile’s premium business division. “The ability to charge wirelessly 30 percent faster than before gives the V30 a huge advantage over the competition.”

LG V30 AS KINETIC ART: REAL OR CGI?

Acclaimed Artist Michael Murphy Interprets
LG’s Latest Flagship Using Different Perspectives

Screenshots taken from a video about LG Electronics’ collaboration with artist Michael Murphy to show off the LG V30’s rich multimedia capabilities using kinetic art

SEOUL, Oct. 31, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) and artist Michael Murphy have teamed up to communicate the rich multimedia capabilities of the new LG V30 smartphone using kinetic art.

Kinetic art relies on motion to create an effect. But the art doesn’t actually move, the viewer does. When viewed from a different angle, the artwork transforms into something altogether different. It goes without saying that this field of art is immersive and is best experienced in person at exhibitions. For the millions of art lovers who cannot attend Murphy’s exhibit, his two works interpreting the V30 video and audio capabilities can be viewed in their full glory at https://goo.gl/SkkEVN and https://goo.gl/rq3cjX.

The LG V30 is a device that was designed for users who want to create, as well as consume, content. LG felt that kinetic art was an appropriate medium to communicate to fans of art and technology. And Michael Murphy was the perfect artisan to make the concept a reality.

From Brooklyn, New York, Murphy is best known for his 2007 portraits of then-U.S. Presidential Candidate Barack Obama, which was influential on the Art for Obama movement. He is a pioneer of Perceptual Art which uses multidimensional techniques to create three dimensional works of art. Murphy is the talent behind notable works such as Perceptual Shift and Gun Country, which resonated with audiences during a transitional time in the nation’s history.

“We want to spark the imagination of those with a creative sense by challenging them to think outside the traditional boundaries, as Michael Murphy does,” said Kim Su-young, head of marketing for LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Showcasing products such as the V30 in creative new ways is the most effective way to communicate with our target audience of content creators.”

The LG V30 has earned accolades for offering the most powerful multimedia features among this year’s high-end smartphones. Some of these features include an F1.6 aperture Crystal Clear glass lens, dual cameras with a 120-degree wide angle lens and minimal edge distortion, Hi-Fi Quad DAC and sound tuning by audio experts at B&O PLAY.

 Home Entertainment Achieves Record Profitability;
Home Appliances Report Strongest Third Quarter Revenues Ever

A picture of LG Twin Towers in the daytime

SEOUL, Oct. 26, 2017 ― LG Electronics Inc. (LG) today announced consolidated third-quarter 2017 revenues of KRW 15.22 trillion (USD 13.44 billion), an increase of more than 15 percent compared with the third quarter the previous year. All of LG’s four major business units reported higher revenues from the same period a year ago. Quarterly operating income of KRW 516.1 billion (USD 455.7 million) almost doubled from 2016, reflecting strong profitability in home entertainment and appliances despite the gloomy business environment resulting from increasing international trade concerns.

The LG Home Appliance & Air Solution Company once again accounted for the largest share of quarterly revenue with KRW 4.98 trillion (USD 4.4 billion), an increase of 16 percent from the same period last year, buoyed by strong sales in North America, Europe and Asia, particularly in the domestic market. Operating income of KRW 424.9 billion (USD 375.16 million) was 26 percent higher year-over-year. Demand for premium appliances in Europe, Latin America and Asia, especially Korea, is expected to remain strong in the fourth quarter.

The LG Home Entertainment Company reported its highest quarterly operating profit of KRW 458 billion (USD 404.39 million) and record high operating margin of 9.9 percent thanks to higher demand for premium TVs in the Americas and Asia. Sales improved 12 percent from the same period in 2016 to KRW 4.64 trillion (USD 4.09 billion). LG’s strategy to overcome volume competition by expanding the premium component of its TV business focusing on OLED and Ultra HD TVs is proving to be a success. Sales of OLED units by the end of the third quarter were equivalent to the total number of units sold in 2016 which was more than double the 2015 figure.

The LG Mobile Communications Company recorded revenues of KRW 2.81 trillion (USD 2.48 billion), an increase of 8 percent from a year ago and 4 percent higher than the previous quarter, primarily from sales of the flagship G6 smartphone as well as mass-tier models such as the Q and K series. An operating loss of KRW 375.3 billion (USD 331.37 million) was an improvement of 13 percent from the 2016 third quarter. Smartphone shipments of 13.7 million units were 44 percent higher than the second quarter in the domestic market and 9 percent higher in North America. The business unit will focus on driving increased sales of the well-reviewed V30 and improving cost competitiveness in the final quarter of the year.

The LG Vehicle Components Company achieved strong sales of KRW 873.4 billion (USD 771.2 million), up 29 percent from the third-quarter of 2016, while reporting an operating loss of KRW 29 billion (USD 25 million) in the quarter, reflecting continued investments in R&D and business development. Sales of infotainment products and electric vehicle (EV) components remained strong although slowing global automobile sales affected the business unit’s growth. An increase in EV production by major automobile manufacturers is expected to help grow the vehicle components business going forward.

Kim Jin-yong, executive vice president of LG’s Vehicle Components Smart Business Unit, shake hands with Nakul Duggal, vice president of product management at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc, to celebrate the new agreement

SEOUL, Oct. 19, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) announced that it is teaming up with Qualcomm to jointly develop a range of next-generation connected car solutions. The two companies will also establish a joint research center in South Korea to develop 5G for vehicle and C-V2X (Cellular Vehicle-to-Everything) technologies essential to the success of next-generation autonomous vehicles.

As respective leaders in mobile innovation, LG and Qualcomm are bringing decades of R&D experience to the partnership, including knowledge of 5G mobile technology. 5G is vital to the deployment of a fully connected car platform. C-V2X, which is included in 3GPP (Third Generation Partnership Project) Release 14, delivers double the operation time at a lower cost than DSRC (Dedicated Short Range Communications) over existing mobile communication networks. In parts of Europe and Asia, field tests and standardization activities are already being conducted with rollout by 2020 in mind. A pioneer in V2X innovations, LG Electronics has been the industry leader in the fast-growing telematics market since 2013.

“LG plans to lead the next-generation vehicle components market by combining our experience in automotive communication technologies with Qualcomm’s advanced connected solutions from LTE to 5G,” said Kim Jin-yong, executive vice president of LG’s Vehicle Components Smart Business Unit. “We are optimistic that the combined research strength of Qualcomm and LG will yield benefits that would not be feasible working independently.”

“Building on our long-standing relationship with LG, this effort to advance C-V2X technology further demonstrates our continued commitment to the development of advanced solutions for safe, connected and increasingly autonomous vehicles,” said Nakul Duggal, vice president of product management, Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “With the automotive industry on a clear path to 5G, we look forward to working together with LG to meet the demands of today’s drivers and advance the commercialization of C-V2X technology in next-gen vehicles.”

The collaboration will be based out of LG Electronics’ Science Park in Seoul. The two companies will begin working together effective immediately.

SEOUL, Sep. 26, 2017 — Driving home its commitment to future-ready open platforms for smart appliances, LG today announced that 87 Wi-Fi connected LG smart home appliances – including washing machines and dryers, refrigerators, ovens, dishwashers, vacuums, air purifiers and more – are now compatible with the Google Assistant on Google Home, eligible Android phones and iOS smartphones.

With the industry’s extensive range of smart appliances available today, LG Electronics is offering consumers more ways to control their home and enjoy the benefits of a connected home experience, ushering in cutting-edge connectivity and convenience and expanding the Google Assistant compatibility and functionality for LG smart appliances announced earlier this spring.

Voice-enabled Control with the Google Assistant

LG smart appliance owners can now have the Google Assistant help them around the house with their connected LG appliances, all hands free. For example, they can use simple voice commands on their phone or anywhere within range of the Assistant on Google Home to check the time remaining during wash cycles on their washing machine, tell their LG refrigerator to make more ice, turn off their range after cooking, adjust thermostat settings on their LG air conditioner and even check the air quality level in the home using their LG air purifier. Setup is simple and convenient with the free LG SmartThinQ app, available for Android or iOS. With just one app, users will be able to control the entire lineup of LG smart appliances. Whether it’s preheating the oven on the way home from work or checking the remaining laundry time while at the gym, LG makes managing smart appliances easy.

Smart Gets Even Smarter with Adaptive Learning

Taking connected convenience further, LG SmartThinQ learns more about a consumer’s usage patterns and helps predict their needs. “LG makes it especially easy for consumers to connect and interact with Wi-Fi built into virtually all of its 2017 appliances,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG’s Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Our collaboration with Google is an example of our strategy of Open Partnership, Open Platform, and Open Connectivity.”

In addition to Google, LG’s Open Partnerships include others such as Amazon to meet the needs and preferences of smart home adopters.

LG HELPING CHALLENGED TEENS DREAM BIGGER DREAMS IN TECH

Competition Helps Challenged Students in Asia Get Started in IT Careers

The winner makes a speech after receiving his award.

SEOUL, Sep. 21, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) is attempting to prove that amidst the criticism that the IT sector isn’t as inclusive as it could be when it comes to gender and age, one thing is certain – IT has no limitations when it comes to one’s physical capabilities.

To prove this point, LG is partnering with Rehabilitation International Korea (RI Korea) and organizing the seventh annual Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities in Hanoi, Vietnam from September 19-21. Korean Ministry of Health and Welfare and LG will host this event sponsored by Korean Ministry of Science and ICT, UNESCAP, RI (Rehabilitation International) and Community Chest of Korea. Physically challenged middle and high school students from across 16 countries in the Asia region that includes China, India, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, Kazahstan, Uzbekistan and the Philippines among others, were selected to compete across several IT categories. Vietnam was selected as the host country in recognition of the 25th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the nation and the Republic of Korea.

Since its debut in 2011, the Global IT Challenge for Youth with Disabilities has pursued the goal to minimize the digital divide in the participants’ ability to access technology and improve their chances of finding meaningful careers. More importantly, the competition helps young adults increase their confidence and dream bigger dreams. “For me, this is a stepping stone to get into a university and become a photo editor,” said 17-year-old Nguyen Doan An of Hanoi.

Competitors will be judged by a panel made up of representatives from Korea’s top Seoul National University’s Computer Engineering Department, experts from LG Electronics’ R&D Center and IT specialists. The students will be evaluated on their ability to solve problems and think creatively using today’s technology tools. In addition to the invaluable experience, winners will receive cash prizes to assist with educational expenses.

“The challenges disabled individuals face in Asia won’t disappear overnight but with the proper training and attitude, we can help lower the barrier to entry into the IT workforce,” said Kim Young-lak, president of LG Electronics Vietnam. “LG is providing a foundation for today’s challenged youth to discover new possibilities and unleash their true potential. We are confident that these students will leave the competition knowing that they can achieve anything.”

Latest Flagship Earns Praise for Plethora of Useful Features
Enhancing the Visual and Aural Experience

SEOUL, Sep. 20, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) begins shipping its well-regarded LG V30 smartphone to customers in its home country of South Korea this week and will be followed by deliveries to eager customers in North America, Europe and other key markets globally in the days and weeks to come.

The LG V30 created strong interest at this year’s IFA 2017 in Berlin, winning 26 awards, the most for LG at the annual trade show. Audiences praised it for its superb design and range of innovative features with experts predicting it will be the phone to beat when it comes to creating professional-quality content without professional-level complexity.

To best deliver consumers’ preference for big screens in small bodies, LG engineers squeezed a 6-inch, 18:9 FullVision display into a frame that is 8mm shorter and 3mm narrower than its predecessor. Sheathed front and back in tempered glass that curls around its edges, the V30 won accolades for its exquisite look and feel. Weighing in at only 158g, the V30 is the lightest smartphone in the 6-inch and over smartphone category.

“The V30 was designed to help consumers best capture the experiences that make up our life stories,” said Juno Cho, president of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “Its functions and features delight our senses of sight, sound and touch and when it comes to looks, it may just be the most beautiful smartphone we’ve ever developed.”

LG is a leader in smartphone photography, and the V30 extends this legacy. The phone features many industry innovations, including the first F1.6 aperture and glass lens in a smartphone camera, the ability to produce near professional quality movies and videos by shooting in LG-Cine Log format and the smartphone industry’s first OLED display in FullVision format.

The F1.6 aperture lens that highlights the main camera captures more light for brighter-than-ever shots. The Crystal Clear Lens is composed of glass, a material usually only found in higher-end cameras that delivers more accurate colors and crisper images than traditional plastic lenses.

As a video capture tool, the V30 is equipped with Cine Video mode to make anyone shoot like a pro. Cine Effect features 15 different presets that emulate genres from romantic comedy to summer blockbuster. And industry-first Point Zoom allows one to zoom in on any subject in the frame, not only the center object. LG-Cine Log saves files while preserving a wide dynamic range and color gamut to allow for more adjustments in post-production. All this, when combined with the QHD+ (2880 x 1440) OLED FullVision display, offers faster response times and minimizes afterimages for the ideal Google Daydream VR experience.

Additional details including price and exact date of availability will be announced locally in each market.

LG TO UNVEIL NEXT GENERATION OLED TECHNOLOGY AT FRANKFURT MOTOR SHOW

Innovative OLED Rear Lamps Soon to be Introduced
Commercially in Major European Automobiles

The LG-designed OLED rear lamp for vehicles before car installation on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show.

SEOUL, Sep. 13, 2017 ― LG Electronics (LG) will introduce its advanced auto component technologies at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show (September 14-24), highlighted by the company’s first advanced OLED rear lamps to be featured in vehicles from a major European automaker. LG will also highlight connected car solutions for autonomous driving concept cars. LG’s debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show follows the company’s recent debut at major auto shows in Asia (Beijing and Shanghai) as well as North America (Detroit) following the launch of the LG Vehicle Components business division in 2013.

The LG-designed OLED rear lamp leverages the company’s global leadership in all things OLED. As the world’s leader in OLED TVs, LG has deep experience incorporating advanced OLED technologies in products such as smartphones, smartwatches and instrument panels. LG’s OLED rear lamp is more compact than conventional lighting modules thanks to the lack of a backlight unit, up to 85 to 90 percent smaller than typical rear lamps. LG’s OLED lamp also runs cooler which results in improved durability and longevity compared to conventional rear units. In addition to its new OLED rear lamp, LG plans to showcase other innovative products such as AV navigation systems, infotainment systems and convenience-enhancing devices such as ADAS cameras, LCD instrument panels and electric compressors, among others.

LG Vehicle Components is LG’s fastest growing business and is expected to play a major role in the future growth of the corporation. This growth will be fueled to a large degree by the collaboration with General Motors on the Chevrolet Bolt EV, in which LG is supplying a total of 11 components and systems, including electric drive motors, power invertor modules, battery cells and high power distribution modules. For its contribution toward the success of the Chevy Bolt, LG was recognized with GM’s Innovation Award of the Year earlier this year. This comes top of other industry recognitions such as the Supplier Award from Renault and the Technology and Innovation Award from Volkswagen.

“We plan to expand our presence and expertise in the fast-growing electric vehicle market by aggressively engaging industry leaders in Europe, North America and Asia,” said Lee Woo-jung, president of the LG Vehicle Components Company. “We want to highlight how LG can work with automakers to develop custom solutions to drive technological innovation. LG has been a formidable player in automotive components for decades and we feel this is the right time to capitalize on this knowledge and experience.”

THE EVOLUTION OF LG OLED TV FROM OUTLIER TO PREMIUM CATEGORY LEADER

The past year has been a true coming-of-age moment for LG’s OLED technology, the most exciting since LG introduced the world’s first 55-inch OLED TV in 2013. More and more companies are jump on the bandwagon as OLED firmly establishing itself as the premier TV technology. At IFA 2017, a total of 13 different companies showcased OLED TV products, up from nine last year with LG leading the way with its elegant 2017 lineup.

The entrance to LG’s booth at IFA 2017 was marked by a mesmerizing OLED tunnel. The tunnel made an impression on IFA visitors from all over the world with its ingenuity, scale and cutting-edge technology. Crisp images were displayed across the OLED screens that formed the tunnel while nearby speakers projected object-based Dolby Atmos sound. The inky blacks, infinite contrast and lifelike colors made possible by the OLED tunnel helped the technology make a name for itself in the high-stakes world of tech expos. LG’s booth also featured the award-winning wallpaper SIGNATURE OLED TV W which mesmerized visitors with its razor-slim profile and revolutionary Picture-On-Wall design concept, which makes the TV look like a window into another dimension.

LG’s OLED TVs have grown, matured and come of age in a blisteringly competitive global premium TV market, and LG’s increasingly fortified position as the leader in OLED TV innovation has had a major impact on emerging technology trends.

Challenges of Developing OLED Display Technology

LG has been both a pioneer and the undisputed leader in the OLED TV market. During the first few years, these innovative screens were originally seen by industry experts, TV reviewers and consumers alike as the future of TV. Since their introduction, LG OLED TVs have also continued to smash records. The format’s versatility and unrivaled picture quality have helped it receive numerous prominent awards and top marks in consumer reviews.

As advanced, new technology, early LG OLED TVs came at a relatively high price. Some industry pundits were skeptical as to whether OLED’s manufacturing requirements would discourage investment in the technology.

Early OLED TVs found a niche in the premium TV market and LG gained a reputation as an industry risk taker. This persistence and determination to bring consumers the best possible viewing experience soon paid off. LG was able to raise consumer awareness, enhance economies of scale to reduce OLED TV prices as well as diversify its OLED TV lineup in order to offer consumers a wider selection of screen sizes and designs. In relatively no time at all, LG had a hit on its hands.

Every year, LG makes significant strides in OLED technology and continues to incorporate the most advanced features into its OLED TV lineup. This ongoing effort is made possible by LG’s never-ending campaign to streamline its manufacturing processes and slash production costs by investing in cutting-edge production facilities and expertly managing its supply chain. LG has also heavily invested in communicating how well equipped OLED is to meet consumer needs. These efforts have led to a wider base of consumers purchasing OLED TVs.

The media has also become more interested in OLED technology and this enthusiasm for LG’s OLED TV has spread beyond tech media to include consumer media outlets and consumer technology organizations.

Pinnacle of Global TV Market

Four years after LG unveiled its first OLED TV lineup, the company views the growing competition as a chance to increase consumer understanding of the technology and a strategic opportunity to solidify its position at the top of the global premium TV market. The OLED TV segment already occupies a consistently increasing share of the global premium TV market and it is now easier than ever to buy an OLED TV at an attractive price.

An excellent example of the increased media attention for OLED can be seen in how LG’s 2016 and 2017 LG OLED TV lineups received praise not only from tech media but also from consumer media and lifestyle publications as well as other technology companies and major consumer TV shootout events. This year, LG OLED TVs bested all 200 competing TV products in review campaigns by receiving the highest ratings from the major consumer magazines in nine European countries – the UK, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Sweden, Belgium and Portugal.

What’s more, a leading U.S consumer publication picked an LG OLED TV as the best TV in the market. Other models in the LG OLED TV lineup made many media’s Top Ten lists. These consumer-oriented magazines and organizations take into account picture, sound and smart features in order to help consumers make the best possible purchase. The limelight LG has received from these publications demonstrates that OLED has firmly established its spot in the hearts and minds of consumers, in addition to its prestigious position in the global TV market.

Earned a Place on Consumers’ Shortlist

Since their beginning, OLED TVs have always been considered the top option for delivering the best possible home viewing experience with their incredibly intense black and infinite contrast, due to capacity to control light at pixel level. LG has equipped its OLED TVs with the most powerful technologies while housing them in sophisticated, ultra-slim designs. This makes LG’s OLED TVs unmistakable, even in the increasingly crowded OLED market. Improving on an already exceptional product, the 2017 LG OLED TV lineup boasts nearly uniform picture and sound technology.

AT IFA 2017, LG SHINES SPOTLIGHT ON TV PARTNERSHIP WITH DOLBY AND TECHNICOLOR

Award-wining OLED TVs Lead Market in Image Rendering for All Content

Four LG SIGNATURE OLED TV Ws displaying optimized colors on show at IFA 2017.

BERLIN, Sep. 1, 2017 — TVs from LG Electronics (LG) will be in the spotlight at IFA 2017 with strong partnerships that leverage technologies from renowned companies such as Dolby® and Technicolor.

LG will demonstrate 2017 OLED TVs featuring Technicolor Expert Mode that display colors optimized by Technicolor’s color scientists who work on the majority of Hollywood’s premium content. Technicolor Expert Mode will be available in the picture setting menu to all of LG’s 2017 OLED TVs starting in October. LG is also working on adopting Technicolor Expert Mode for its 2017 SUPER UHD TVs. LG’s OLED TVs have been recognized for their superior performance and are used by Technicolor as consumer reference displays in the production of home delivery versions of major Hollywood movies and television content such as Logan and Sense 8. This recognition from Technicolor verifies LG’s longstanding claim that its OLED TVs enable users to enjoy premium viewing experience.

“While doing color work on season two of the Netflix series Sense 8, LG’s OLED technology was crucial when collaborating with writer/director Lana Wachowski – who has offices on the other side of the country – and cinematographer John Toll, in Hollywood,” explains Tony Dustin, senior colorist with Technicolor. “OLED technology’s true blacks, color saturation and depth ensured that all of us were looking at the same colors, even when we were not physically together. On top of that, we’re excited that LG OLED TVs are readily available on the market for consumers wishing to experience LG OLED TV picture quality, and this gives us confidence that the images we were working on will be accurately represented for audiences at home.”

At IFA 2017, LG will demonstrate the powerful, 4K HDR video game rendering capabilities of its OLED TVs expanded color performance in combination with Microsoft’s Xbox One S and Turn 10’s Forza Horizon 3. With HDR, the glint of the sun off the racing cars is complimented by the pixel diming nature of OLED. This allows the light to be bright even against a dark car with no discoloration. Serious gamers will benefit from an input lag time of no more than 21.3 milliseconds ensuring that from controller to screen time is almost instantaneous via the HDR Game Mode of LG’s OLED TVs by using Microsoft’s Xbox One S.

All 2017 LG OLED and SUPER UHD TVs feature Active HDR which delivers brighter highlights and greater shadow details when displaying HDR content. Active HDR allows LG TVs to process the picture scene by scene, generating dynamic data from each scene in the video, which is then used to optimize the rendered picture on a scene by scene basis. In addition, 2017 LG OLED TVs and SUPER UHD TVs support multiple HDR formats including Dolby VisionTM, HDR10 and HLG (Hybrid Log Gamma) broadcast technology, with all 2017 LG UHD TV models supporting the HLG format. Additionally, LG plans to support Advanced HDR by Technicolor in the future. And LG uses dynamic data in processing HDR10 and HLG content with scene by scene adjustment for an improved viewing experience even on open standard HDR format. LG’s TV lineup’s versatility is further enhanced by HDR Effect which upscales standard dynamic range content to improve brightness and contrast ratios. LG will hold several HDR demonstrations at its IFA 2017 booth, including BBC 4K HLG content, Amazon HDR10 and Netflix Dolby Vision content.

On-demand streaming services offer a strong lineup of content featured in Dolby Vision with more than 100 studio titles available today. Additionally, more than 125 hours of original content is available in Dolby Vision across leading over-the-top (OTT) providers and consumers globally also have access to Dolby Vision titles on Ultra HD Blu-ray disc.

At IFA, LG will demonstrate for the first time enhanced Alexa voice control functions in an LG TV connected to an Amazon Echo speaker. With Amazon Alexa compatibility for the company’s webOS TVs, visitors at IFA will be able to issue voice commands to Amazon Echo speaker to control TV functions such as channel selection, volume, directional controls, content search and smart TV app launch, all hands and remote control free.

The amazing LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W is making its IFA debut today. This outstanding feat of engineering was honored with the widest collection of TV awards at CES 2017, winning this year’s Best of the Best award. Other compelling OLED TVs such as the LG E7, which received industry-wide recognition on both sides of the Atlantic, was crowned winner of all three categories: Studio Lighting/Home Theater, HDR and Streaming Performance in the 14th Annual CE Week TV Shootout in New York as well as being recognized by the European Imaging and Sound Association (EISA) as the Best OLED TV.

“We are pleased to exhibit our superior 2017 TVs at IFA, offering visitors the opportunity to experience their unrivaled performance hands-on,” said Brian Kwon, president of the LG Electronics Home Entertainment Company. “Partnerships with respected names such as Technicolor and Dolby demonstrate LG’s commitment to continually pushing the boundaries of TV technology.”

Visitors to LG’s booth at IFA 2017 in Berlin will have a chance to see the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W along with other TV innovations from LG for themselves.

LG TO SHOWCASE NEXT LEVEL OF PREMIUM BUILT-IN APPLIANCES AT IFA 2017

LG STUDIO Available in More Sizes Options to Fit Seamlessly into Any Kitchen

Kitchen with wooden cabinets and the complete North American LG STUDIO lineup with black stainless steel finish, including oven, induction stovetop, wall hood, dishwasher and Side-by-Side refrigerator.

BERLIN, Aug. 31, 2017 — At IFA 2017 in Berlin, LG Electronics (LG) will demonstrate how it is expanding its built-in appliance offerings to accommodate even more existing kitchen layouts. With consumers becoming more and more involved in designing and personalizing their kitchens, LG’s built-in collections come in two different sizes and offer wider range of styles to choose from. LG combines the latest kitchen appliance technologies with sophisticated styling, allowing these premium appliances to seamlessly blend in with kitchen interiors while achieving space efficiency.

The North American LG STUDIO collection is widely noted for its sleek smudge-resistant black stainless steel finish. The lineup includes a 30-inch electric wall oven, a 36-inch induction stovetop, a radiant, gas cooktop and wall hood, a 24-inch QuadWash™ dishwasher and a spacious 42-inch Side-by-Side refrigerator.

The state-of-the art European LG STUDIO package allows one to cook, dine and clean in style with the help of a 24-inch electric wall oven, 24-inch induction hob, 24-inch QuadWash™ dishwasher, 24-inch Bottom-Freezer, 36-inch wall mount hood as well as radiant and gas hobs. Fast boiling, frying, and searing are all possible thanks to LG’s built-in induction hob, which is capable of generating 7.4 kW of heat energy – the highest in the industry. While other hobs that offer auto detection are only capable of recognizing one piece of cookware, LG’s induction hob can recognize up to 4 pots or pans automatically. The hob’s flexible cooking zone provides additional versatility by allowing the user to simultaneously prepare several dishes that require larger cookware, such as stews and soups. The built-in oven comes with six adjustable rack levels while the Easy Clean feature is so effective that family members can spend more time enjoying their food, not cleaning it.

LG’s interactive cooking show will be the highlight of the week’s activities inside the Built-in Zone at LG’s booth at IFA. Visitors will have a chance to try an assortment of star chef Kolja Kleeberg’s signature dishes – including refreshing starters, rich entrées, beautifully prepared desserts – all made possible with the help of LG STUDIO appliances. Kleeberg, a renowned German chef equally famous for his jovial personality as he is for his extraordinary culinary skills, will prepare four different three course meals every day. While cooking, Chef Kleeberg will also provide tips and explanations on how to use kitchen appliances to their full potential.

“LG’s premium built-in kitchens are the ideal solution for today’s discerning homeowner,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solution Company. “Visitors to our booth at IFA will walk away thoroughly impressed by how far today’s appliances have evolved beyond yesterday’s rectangular boxes. LG’s built-in collections offer a level of premium-ness and quality that have to be seen to be believed.”
