LAS VEGAS, Jan. 4, 2017 — This week at CES® 2017 in Las Vegas, LG Electronics (LG) will showcase a groundbreaking new lineup of intelligent robots, as part of the company’s innovations in artificial intelligence and developments in the IoT ecosystem. The lineup includes a home robot that doubles as a smart home gateway and intelligent home notification center, enhancing convenience in users’ day-to-day lives. LG is also taking the power of IoT and smart technology outside of the home with advanced robots designed for use in airports and other public spaces.

Hub Robot: Creating a Smarter Home

LG’s eye-catching Hub Robot takes the concept of the smart home to the next level. By connecting to other smart appliances in the home, the Hub Robot uses Amazon Alexa’s voice recognition technology to complete household tasks such as turning on the air conditioner or changing a dryer cycle with simple verbal commands. The Hub Robot is equipped with an interactive display that can showcase a wide variety of information such as images of contents inside of the refrigerator and recipes, complete with step-by-step audio instructions. Additionally, the Hub Robot offers everyday consumer conveniences such as the ability to play music, set alarms, create reminder memos and provide weather and traffic updates.

With its friendly, anthropomorphic design, LG’s Hub Robot can interact with the entire family in a variety of different ways. It can move and swivel in place, as well as express a wide range of emotions by displaying a face on its display. The Hub Robot is designed to respond to consumers using body language, such as nodding its head when answering simple questions, and is always aware of activities inside the home, such as when family members leave, come home and go to bed. And because the Hub Robot is able to distinguish different family members’ faces with its camera, it can be programmed with a different greeting for each family member.

The Hub Robot works effectively when placed in common areas of the house where family members tend to gather, such as the kitchen or the living room. To complement the Hub Robot, LG will also introduce mini robots that can be placed in other rooms in the house. Also equipped with a sleek visual display, these mini robots are extensions of the Hub Robot and can perform many of the same functions.

Airport Guide Robot: A Traveler’s Best Friend

LG’s expansion of its intelligent services ecosystem reaches far beyond just the home. The Airport Guide Robot – soon to be seen in Seoul’s Incheon International Airport – is an intelligent information assistant for travelers, answering questions in four languages: English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. With a simple scan of a passenger’s ticket, the robot can provide detailed information about a flight’s boarding time and gate location, and even the weather of a traveler’s destination city. The airport robot offers directions to destinations inside the airport, along with estimated distances and walking times, and can even escort lost or late travelers to their gates, or any other airport location.

Airport Cleaning Robot: Offering an Industrial-Size Clean

As one of the industry’s early innovators of robotic vacuum cleaners, LG’s lineup would not be complete without an industrial-sized robot vacuum. LG’s Airport Cleaning Robot is a super-sized robot vacuum equipped with a large-capacity dust canister as well as multiple brushes and motors. Capable of cleaning everything from tiles to carpet floors, this robot is equipped with the latest in smart sensors and multiple cameras to ensure a safe, effective and powerful performance in even the most crowded airports. Multiple sensors using light detection and ranging (LIDAR) as well as sensitive bumpers which detect obstacles are employed throughout. Thanks to the use of simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) technology, the robot is always aware of its location.

Lawn Mowing Robot: For an Impeccably-Cut Yard

LG’s Lawn Mowing Robot rounds out the company’s lineup of advanced robots at CES 2017. Ideal for many types of yards, this robot benefits from years of development of the HOM-BOT vacuum cleaner to trim grass accurately, reliably and most of all, safely. Equipped with many of the advanced sensors and bumpers found in the airport robot, the Lawn Mowing Robot recognizes its own location at every moment, as well as the location of every obstacle in sight, such as trees or hedges. Designed to increase cutting performance, this robot employs a fast-moving blade that leaves lawns looking impeccable. In addition to its features, the side wire simplifies the ordinarily-complicated installation process without the need to calculate offsets, making it easily accessible and user-friendly.

“LG has been involved in smart technology and robotics for many years with the HOM-BOT robot vacuum cleaner being our most visible consumer effort,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company. “Here at CES, we’re demonstrating how we’re taking the knowledge gleaned from years of research and applying that to various situations inside and outside the home.”

LG’s new robot collection will be on display at LG’s CES booth (Central Hall #11100) in the Las Vegas Convention Center from Jan. 5-8.

LG Smart InstaView Refrigerator Features Voice Control, webOS and Remote Viewing Capabilities

Industry-Leading Technologies Offer Intuitive Control, Home Management,
Bringing New Meaning to Kitchen as “Heart of the Home”
LG InstaView™ refrigerator with its touch panel activated

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 4, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) has introduced a new kind of refrigerator, called Smart InstaView™ that’s embedded with an array of convenient features provided by Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service and powered by LG’s own webOS smart platform.

Unveiled at CES® 2017, LG’s new flagship Door-in-Door® refrigerator features a 29-inch touch LCD display, which, thanks to its InstaView feature, instantly turns transparent with just two knocks of the screen and allows users to look inside the refrigerator without opening the door. Now with webOS, consumers can also explore a host of Wi-Fi-enabled features directly on the refrigerator, creating a streamlined and powerful food management system all housed directly on the front of the fridge door.

Amazon’s Alexa Voice Service gives users access to an intelligent personal assistant that, in addition to searching recipes, can play music, place Prime-eligible orders from Amazon.com including groceries, add items to a shopping list and more. With over 6,000 skills available, Alexa can also control one’s smart home, request car service, set kitchen timers and check the weather – all hands-free by just using your voice. With Alexa, daily tasks in the kitchen – such as cooking or planning for the day – turn into a dynamic, entertaining experience.

In addition to the services provided by Amazon, the LG Smart InstaView refrigerator offers a variety of other convenience-enhancing features. The Smart Tag menu allows users to add stickers and tags on the screen to indicate which foods are stored as well as the ability to input the expiration date of each item, so the refrigerator can issue reminders when foods near expiration. Family members can set up memos for each other and create to-do lists that display on the screen. To check inside the refrigerator remotely, a 2.0 megapixel panoramic super-wide-lens camera captures images of the interior from a variety of different angles which are accessible via smartphone, a must-have feature for anyone who would like to see what’s at home while grocery shopping.

“By working with Amazon, we are able to broaden our smart refrigerator’s capabilities and further provide our customers with a pleasurable cooking and dining experience,” said Song Dae-Hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company. “Our Smart InstaView Door-in-Door refrigerator will allow users to enjoy their kitchen experience like never before.”

“For many families, the kitchen is one of the busiest rooms in the house, and a place where they often find their hands tied. Now consumers have even more convenience in their homes, all just by using their voice and Alexa,” said Mike George, vice president, Amazon Alexa. “In working with an innovative home appliance company like LG, we can truly showcase how much better life can be for consumers everywhere starting with updating one of the most important appliances in the home.”

CES attendees are welcome to see LG’s Smart InstaView Refrigerator and the company’s full 2017 product lineup at LG’s booth in the Las Vegas Convention Center (Central Hall #11100) from Jan. 5-8.

LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W PUSHES TV DESIGN INTO A NEW DIMENSION AT CES 2017

Featuring Picture-on-Wall Design, Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, Color Science Expertise by Technicolor,
Most Premium OLED TV Delivers Unrivaled Home Cinema Experience

The LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W CES 2017 installation while moved to fit side-by-side.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 4, 2017 — LG Electronics (LG) took the stage at CES 2017 to unveil its newest top-of-the-line LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W as the pinnacle of its new lineup of flat-panel TVs at CES 2017. Featuring Dolby Vision™ and Dolby Atmos™ sound, the new lineup includes a total of ten different models, highlighted by the 2017 CES Best of Innovation Award winner, the 77-inch LG SIGNATURE OLED TV W exemplified by its Picture-on-Wall design.

The LG 2017 OLED TV lineup, consisting of models 77/65W7, 77/65G7, 65/55E7, 65/55C7 and 65/55B7, will continue to live up to its unrivaled ability to reproduce the most lifelike images of any TV product with perfect blacks, infinite contrast and an expanded color gamut. The company’s latest OLED TVs are built on this foundation of excellence and come with a number of new cutting-edge features designed to transform the TV into a comprehensive entertainment hub. LG’s 2017 OLED TVs feature the amazing blade-slim design of the B7 and C7 series, Picture-on-Glass design of the E7 and G7 series and the unique Picture-on-Wall design of the newest W7 series.

The innovative design of the W7 series follows LG’s “less is more” philosophy, stripping away everything to emphasize the beauty of the screen alone. The W7’s sleek razor-thin profile makes the TV appear to be levitating in mid-air, adding to the sense of immersion. The OLED panel, measuring only 2.57mm thin in the 65-inch model, can be mounted directly on the wall with only magnetic brackets, eliminating any gap between the TV and the wall. The sense of immersion is completed by up-firing speakers and unrivaled Dolby Atmos sound. This design of the W7 series invites the illusion of gazing out a window, not of watching TV.

The W7 OLED TV series builds on LG OLED’s revolutionary pixel dimming control technology, which renders perfect black without any light leakage to offer a limitless contrast ratio, with one billion possible colors. What’s more, all LG’s 2017 OLED TVs use ULTRA Luminance technology to deliver greater brightness where needed.

Leveraging the high dynamic range (HDR) technology that powers Dolby’s most advanced cinemas around the world, Dolby Vision elevates the home TV viewing experience by delivering greater brightness and contrast as well as a fuller palette of rich colors. Dolby Atmos puts viewers inside the action with rich sound that fills the entire room – even the space overhead – with powerful, moving audio that flows around the audience. Dolby achieves this by isolating the relative location of each sound to create incredibly intricate audio that is as rich and multi-layered as the real world.

As the first TV in the world to offer Dolby Atmos, 2017 LG OLED TVs can deliver content with both cutting-edge imaging and state-of-the-art sound technologies simultaneously, creating an entertainment powerhouse. Together, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos deliver a comprehensive solution supported by professional conten

LG BRINGS EXPANDED 2017 AUDIO LINEUP TO CES

From Dolby Atmos® Soundbar to Party Speakers,
LG Has Something to Appeal to All Audiophiles in 2017

A slight side view of the LG CAV collection with soundbar models SJ9, SJ8, SJ7 and LG LOUDR sound system model CJ98.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 3, 2017 — This week at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, LG Electronics (LG) is showcasing an expanded lineup of audio products to appeal to a wide range of consumers from avid audiophiles to casual listeners who prioritize portability and versatility. LG’s newest audio devices implement emerging technologies to maximize synergy with LG’s premium TVs and to broaden the possibilities of where consumers can take their favorite music.

Next Dimension of TV Soundbars

LG’s new SJ9 soundbar harnesses the power of Dolby Atmos® technology, to recreate the ultimate cinema audio experience while its sleek design adds an instant aesthetic accent to any home. In order to create such powerful, textured sound, the SJ9 is equipped with multiple cutting-edge speakers – including two powerful up firing speakers – to envelop the listener from every angle.

Dolby Atmos delivers moving audio that can be precisely placed anywhere in three-dimensional space, including overhead, to create realistic and breathtaking sound for a more immersive and emotive experience. Sounds are represented as independent objects by employing sophisticated metadata to describe the location and size of individual audio objects in the 3-dimensional listening space. These audio objects are rendered in real-time such that each sound comes from its designated location, even directly overheard the listener.

The LG SJ9 is also equipped with 4K Sound1, (Hi Resolution Audio) compatible with high quality lossless audio files to recreate the sound recorded in the original studio. In addition, the SJ9’s Sound Upconverting feature increases the quality of standard audio files to 24bit/192kHz to enhance subtle details and nuances of each track. The SJ9 supports 4K Pass-Through to deliver pristine sound without compromising image quality, ensuring a perfectly synchronized audio and video experience.

LG is also unveiling its elegant SJ8 soundbar which delivers robust audio performance in a slim and efficient 38mm profile. The advanced soundbar integrates seamlessly with LG’s new range of 2017 TV models. With TV Perfect Fit Kit, owners can integrate the SJ8 with certain LG TV sets by replacing the original stand with the SJ8 soundbar. The SJ8 is equipped with many of the same stunning features as the SJ9, including 4K Sound, 4K Pass-Through and the ability to stream content using Chromecast built-in.

Finally, the LG SJ7 is an incredibly versatile and powerful 320W soundbar that can be positioned either horizontally or vertically depending on the audio experience the listener desires, due to its split bar design. The two halves of the SJ7 connect wirelessly together providing outstanding stereo sound. One of the halves has a built-in battery allowing it, at the flip of a switch, to be used as a rear speaker delivering a more robust surround sound experience. Flip another switch to portable mode and use it as a wireless Bluetooth speaker anytime, anywhere.

Powerful LOUDR Speakers for Fun

Designed with party-goers and music makers in mind, LG’s LOUDR sound systems each pack powerful audio capabilities to create the perfect party atmosphere.

The LOUDR CJ98 is capable of generating 3,500W of powerful sound, instantly creating a lively club-like atmosphere. The CJ98’s Party Thruster allows the DJ to slide a throttle forward to control the build-up of a dance track in order to perfectly time the bass drop and lighting effects. The CJ98 is also equipped with an array of unique controls, looping buttons and sharing features. Karaoke fans will be pleased with the CJ98’s diverse range of vocal effects and the Karaoke Star feature, which suppresses the vocals from songs and allows singers to change the audio track’s key.

The LOUDR OJ98 is another stylish all-in-one speaker system designed to boost the party atmosphere, using a folded horn design hidden inside its chassis to efficiently produce acoustic pressure. The OJ98’s Sparkle Lighting pulses and reflects light in rhythm to the music. To add excitement to any party, the OJ98 is equipped with the Party Kick Starter feature which simulates the sound of a revving race car engine. Designed specifically for DJs, the OJ98’s 109cm height is optimized to put Party Thruster and other controls within perfect reach.

During CES, LG is also unveiling the portable party audio system model FJ7, designed to maximize portability and 400W high output sound without distortion. Since mobility is a priority, the FJ7 comes with convenient handles and wheels to make it convenient to take the music wherever the event may be.

“LG’s exciting 2017 audio lineup features powerful sound capabilities and sophisticated designs for all consumers, from audiophiles demanding absolute sound fidelity to more casual listeners,” said Brian Kwon, president and CEO of LG’s Home Entertainment Company. “The stunning new audio products on display at CES this year demonstrate LG’s commitment to offering a diverse range of audio products that are perfect for any place and any occasion.”

Smart Inverter Motor™ and Axial Turbo Cyclone™ Ergonomically
Designed to Provide Strong Dust Suction and Greater Usability

Side view of the LG CordZero™ Canister vacuum cleaner

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 2, 2017 – At CES® 2017 in Las Vegas next week, LG Electronics (LG) will be unveiling a new generation of CordZero™ premium vacuum cleaners highlighted by the improved CordZero Handstick and CordZero Canister that enable customers to experience a new level of cleaning with LG’s AERO SCIENCE vacuum technology.

LG CordZero Handstick: Powerful Suction and Ergonomic Usability

The new CordZero Handstick delivers high suction power thanks to its Smart Inverter Motor™ that spins 16 times faster than an airplane engine *, enabling the 3D turbo fan to generate powerful airflow. The Smart Inverter Motor, which is backed by a 10-year warranty, guarantees superior performance and durability in a compact size, delivering power directly to the cleaner head via the Power Drive Nozzle™. What’s more, the Axial Turbo Cyclone™ generated by the Smart Inverter Motor forms powerful whirlwinds that captures fine dust more effectively. The vacuum’s advanced five-step filtration system employs a HEPA 13 Filter to eliminate much of the dust that would otherwise go airborne when vacuuming. In addition, two removable Dual PowerPack™ lithium-ion batteries provide extra power to get the job done without having to stop to recharge.

Ergonomically redesigned for 2017, LG CordZero Handstick features a telescoping handle allowing for seamless height adjustment and the ability to reach high ceiling corners. Anti-tangle technology prevents hairs and pet fur from getting caught on the brush. All these features combine with the wall-mounted, self-standing charger to make housework easier.

LG CordZero Canister: Powerful and Effortless Housework

The new CordZero Canister comes with a variety of advanced features designed to offer users a streamlined cleaning experience. The Smart Inverter Motor boosts airflow with the Axial Turbo Cyclone and delivers strong suction with its PowerPack™ 72V lithium-ion battery. Powered by LG’s advanced RoboSense™ 2.0 technology, the vacuum automatically follows the user so no tugging or pulling is ever required. The CordZero Canister’s collision detection system intelligently identifies obstacles and avoids them with its front-mounted sensor. The unit also features Power Drive Nozzle and the US Ergonomics certified Opti-balanced Handle™ designed to increase control and ease of use by reducing pressure in the user’s wrist and elbow. Moreover, the CordZero Canister’s seven-step filtration system utilizes a HEPA 14 Filter to capture ultra-fine dust and allergens that other vacuum cleaners might miss.

“Integrating LG’s advanced vacuum technologies, our new CordZero™ products will completely transform the cleaning experience,” said Song Dae-hyun, president of LG Electronics and Home Appliance & Air Solutions Company. “The new CordZero series showcases our commitment to developing capable home appliances, providing consumers with the convenience they need to live lives.”

LG BREAKS NEW GROUND WITH 2017 SUPER UHD TV LINEUP FEATURING NANO CELL TECHNOLOGY

Combining Stunning Color from Technicolor, Active HDR with Dolby Vision and Minimalistic Design,
LG’s 2017 Offerings Set New Standards for High-End UHD TVs

Font view of the LG SUPER UHD TV model SJ9500.

LAS VEGAS, Jan. 2, 2017 — Employing the most advanced color-enhancing LCD panel technology to date, LG Electronics’ SUPER UHD TVs (models SJ9500, SJ8500 and SJ8000) featuring Nano Cell technology are expected to take LCD TV viewing to a whole new level at CES 2017 opening this week in Las Vegas.

The third generation LG SUPER UHD TV lineup featuring Nano Cell technology will render the most realistic images possible, creating highly nuanced, accurate colors while enabling wider viewing angles. All of LG’s SUPER UHD TV models offer Active HDR with Dolby Vision allowing for multiple HDR formats, granting users access to the full spectrum of high-quality HDR content. And with the latest version of LG’s intuitive webOS smart TV platform, powerful audio capabilities coupled with the thin, aesthetically pleasing design of every LG SUPER UHD TV model, customers will have no trouble finding the perfect TV model to fit their needs and expectations.

Nano Cell LCD displays offer a technological advantage by employing uniformly-sized particles approximately one nanometer in diameter to create more subtle, accurate colors that can be viewed from wider angles than other TVs. Ideal for large, high-resolution TVs, LG SUPER UHD TVs with Nano Cell deliver consistent colors at wider viewing angles with virtually no color difference for viewers seated directly in front of the screen and those watching from a 60 degree angle.

Nano Cell achieves such impressive results by absorbing surplus light wavelengths, enhancing the purity of the colors displayed on the screen. These light absorbing capabilities allow LG’s new LCD displays to filter distinct colors with much greater precision, rendering each color exactly as it was intended by the original content producer. For example, the color green on conventional TVs can blend with other color wavelengths – such as yellow or blue – causing the color to fade and take on yellowish or cyan hues. LG Nano Cell dramatically reduces instances of color fading, image instability and other color degradation issues. Nano Cell technology also reduces on-screen light glow to maintain high picture quality even when the screen is surrounded by intense ambient lighting.

To build on the groundbreaking color technologies of LG’s SUPER UHD TVs, LG has partnered with Technicolor, Hollywood’s expert in image and color, to offer TV image quality that accurately recreates the artistic intent of content creators. This partnership enhances the already impressive color reproduction technologies of LG’s 4K TVs to deliver the most vivid colors to consumers. Home movie lovers will benefit from Technicolor’s renowned color science, applied in the majority of Hollywood premium content, through Technicolor Expert Mode, which is designed to deliver the most accurate colors possible in LG’s SUPER UHD TVs.

Furthermore, LG’s new Nano Cell TVs use improved ULTRA Luminance technology to deliver brighter, crisper image highlights. With support for BT.2020 and the ability to render over one billion possible colors, every new LG SUPER UHD TV is equipped with Active HDR and Dolby Vision, allowing for display of next generation HDR content that has been designed to render brighter scenes and greater shadow detail. Active HDR allows the TV to process the HDR picture frame-by-frame and inserts dynamic data where needed. This process allows the TV to offer the best picture to the viewers, whether the original HDR content contains dynamic, static or no metadata at all.

The new lineup also supports a variety of HDR technology, including Dolby Vision™, HDR10, Hybrid Log Gamma (HLG) and is ready to support the Advanced HDR by Technicolor. This versatility is compounded by the new HDR Effect feature which raises image quality for SDR content. With the HDR Effect feature, SDR images are processed frame-by-frame to improve brightness in specific areas, enhance contrast ratios and render more precise images.

The implementation of the latest webOS Smart TV platform helps make LG’s entire lineup of premium TVs incredibly user-friendly. LG webOS 3.5 is equipped with enhancements for easier control and faster access when using the improved Magic Remote and the new Magic Link feature. Viewers can instantly access their favorite services like Netflix and Amazon Prime Video by pressing a single button on the remote control, without the hassle of finding another remote, tapping into a wide variety of stunning 4K programming on LGs 4K TVs certified by Netflix and Amazon. The new Magic Link button provides a quick gateway for finding favorite content and accessing information about the actors and characters on screen. And with the enhanced Magic Zoom, viewers can enlarge and record any part of the screen they wish to see close up. Connecting the TV to a mobile phone or PC with a USB cable allows one to enjoy eye-popping 360-degree VR content. Using Magic Remote, viewers can move the scene in any direction or zoom in and out using the scroll wheel to view more or less details.

LG SUPER UHD TVs feature the stunning Ultra Slim design with the unique crescent-shaped stand, which gives the 55-inch SJ9500 – only 6.9mm at its thinnest point – the illusion of floating in the air. Whether on top of a TV stand, a part of an entertainment center or mounted on the wall, the beautiful LG SUPER UHD TV will enhance just about any home.

“Our 2017 SUPER UHD TV lineup with LG’s proprietary Nano Cell technology is a breakthrough in display technology that advances the LCD TV viewing experience to a level unlike any other,” said Brian Kwon, president of the LG Home Entertainment Company. “Nano Cell is another example of how LG is innovating and pushing the boundaries of display technology to meet the evolving needs of our customers..”

EXPERIENCE THE MAGIC OF SPATIAL AUDIO WITH LG 360 CAM

LG 360 CAM positioned next to a stack of macaroons with a woman’s hand visible above

The LG 360 CAM is already offering 360-degree visuals. Now, with the latest software update, it will also provide the respective audio format called Spatial Audio.

Being equipped with three mics, the LG 360 CAM is one of very few 360-degree cameras providing horizontal surround sound experience. Moreover, with the addition of our software update, the sound experience goes even one step further to immersive 3D. This is Spatial Audio — which means the sound changes depending upon which direction you turn. It’s as if you’re standing in the center of the video.

The LG 360 CAM is the world’s first compact 360-degree camera to offer this innovative feature. It’s also the first such device to support both YouTube Spatial Audio and 360-degree video in a single camera solution.

Image of LG 360 CAM capturing 360-degree footage of two couples engaging in a wheelbarrow race

1. What is Spatial Audio?

Spatial Audio lets you listen to audio from all directions just as in the real world. It is an immersive audio experience for 360-degree and virtual reality (VR) videos. When you move the cursor or look around, the sound changes accordingly with the view direction.

2. What is the difference between spatial sound and surround sound?

Surround sound, traditionally used in cinemas and home theater systems, is audio output in which the sound appears to “surround the listener” by 360 degrees. Spatial sound goes a step further. As you move around in a 360-degree video recorded with Spatial Audio, the audio changes with your movements. These sounds will seem as if they are coming from real physical objects in the user’s surroundings.

A woman relaxing in a chair and listening to music with Spatial Audio via smartphone with headphones on

3. What do I need to listen to spatial sound recordings?

A good pair of headphones, either wired or wireless, offer a better experience than stereo speakers.

https://youtu.be/mHC_numQNKc

4. What are some online sources for 360-degree videos with spatial sound?

Videos can be viewed on YouTube (Immersive Videos with Spatial Audio) and Facebook 360 as well as posted without the need for any special editing tools.

LG G5 owners using 360 VR must upgrade to Android 7.0 Nougat to experience 360-degree videos with Spatial Audio. For V20 owners, an upcoming software update will provide Spatial Audio functionality.

As Spatial Audio is still in its early stages, users may encounter some compatibility issues such as uploading and playback difficulties on some social media sites that don’t yet support Spatial Audio. We expect these issues to be ironed out over time.

For more details, such as compatible devices and environments, check out the YouTube and Facebook tutorials. Also our In-App help guide will provide additional information on Spatial Audio.

5. How do I upgrade my 360 CAM?

① Connect your 360 CAM to a PC using a USB cable.

② Go to the LG website and download the LG Bridge program. After installing LG Bridge, log in.

Screenshot of LG website – upgrading 360 CAM

③ Download the latest updates:  360 CAM Firmware app update and 360 CAM Manager app update.

Screenshot of LG Bridge app – checking software version of 360 CAM Screenshot of LG Bridge app: 360 CAM update in progress

④ After you have downloaded the updates, you will see a new “3D” icon in the CAM 360’s video camera settings which activates spatial sound. This means you are good to go!

6. If I don’t have a 360 CAM, where can I get one?

LG 360 CAM can be purchased in carrier stores, retail shops and from the LG website in your country, if applicable.

The front left view of the LG TONE Studio

SEOUL, Dec. 28, 2016 — LG Electronics (LG), a leader in Bluetooth headset technology, will unveil a number of new wireless, wearable audio products at CES® 2017. The lineup will be led by TONE Studio wearable speakers capable of delivering amazing 3D surround sound and TONE Free earphones with wireless earbuds that charge when docked in the companion neckband.

The LG TONE Studio (model HBS-W120) personal wearable speaker features four speakers – two full range on the top and two vibrating on the bottom – that give a personal surround sound experience when watching a movie, playing a video game or simply streaming music. Its sound is designed in collaboration with surround sound experts at DTS to bring a realistic theater-like sound for a cinematic experience wherever you may be. The TONE Studio features a Hi-Fi DAC (Digital to Analog Converter) that enhances sound quality by recreating audio content as accurately as possible. What’s more is that with Dual Play, you can connect two LG TONE Studio wearable speakers and share the sound from a movie, playlist or more.

TONE Free (model HBS-F110) is LG’s first wireless stereo product to come with wireless earbuds that charge whenever they are stored inside the neckband, making them easy to charge and carry. Not only does the neckband provide extra battery power and vibration alerts for incoming calls and text messages, it also provides a secure place to store the earbuds when not in your ears, making them less likely to lose. An optional charging cradle provides more power for those times when the neckband might not be convenient. And for even more freedom, TONE Free lets you go completely hands free and answer or ignore a call with voice commands for a real wireless stereo experience with no cords, no tangles and no hassles.

“LG has a rich legacy of innovating in the wearable audio market, and our products have become the standard by which all other earphones are judged,” said Michael Park, vice president of Innovative Personal Devices Business Division at LG Electronics. “We are committed to leading the way in this fast moving market by developing exciting new products which appeal to every music-loving and convenience-seeking individual.”

The TONE Studio and TONE Free are just two of the marquee products in LG’s Bluetooth headset lineup at CES 2017. Other models to be unveiled include TONE Infinim (model HBS-920) featuring LG’s Metal Layer Speaker Technology for clean, crisp sounds and TONE Ultra (model HBS-820), developed in collaboration with audio specialist JBL that features dual MEMS microphones for remarkable call clarity. LG’s entire lineup of wearable audio products including TONE Platinum, TONE Active+, TONE Pro and LG FORCE will be on display at CES 2017 from Jan. 5-8 in Booth #11100 in Central Hall of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
